Singer/actress Brandy and her brother Ray J pictured above at the 4th Annual Ne-Yo And Compound Pre-GRAMMY Midnight Brunch in Los Angeles on Saturday (February 11).
Ray J, who was looking very somber at the festive event was pictured trying to reach his close friend Whitney Houston at her hotel earlier in the day, only to be turned away (VIEW PHOTO) . As reports of her death began to trickle through media outlets, many of Whitney’s friends and family rushed to the hotel to see if it was true. For the past couple of years Ray and Whitney have been rumored to be a couple, but both denied this.
In related news, it was Brandy’s 33rd birthday and they were seen with sparklers throughout the night at the event.

NO WAY IN THE WORLD I’m attending a party that’s held in the same place Whitney passed and while the body is still in the hotel. NO FVCKIN WAY!!!!!!! The was not a can’t miss event especially under those circumstances.

Sometimes it’s easier to get out and not have the trgedy on your mind. I’m sure once he got back home in private he went to pieces and I’m sure he will have many of days and nights, he will not be able to sleep, eat or anything. Also it may seem so unreal to him right now. Trust me he’s grieving.
I know people are different but none of us go out partying when tragedy strikes us!!! We may wanna get out but not to a celebration. Some can’t even move when tragedy strikes. Being around love ones in a prvate setting is always the best move, not in a party atmosphere. Sorry but whe you really look at it this is business as usual and it’s tacky as hell. When I heard the news my heart immediately got heavy and the world all of a sudden looked different to me.

Its a room full of industry people who have known each other for years and they are all feeling the same way. They lost one of their own and I’m sure it was therapeutic for them to all be around each other. The same way families congregate before and after a funeral of their loved ones. I don’t know about y’all but some of the best family parties have been after a funeral and that is because we celebrate the lives of our loved ones where I am from. When I’m gone…I want my family to party and celebrate me…not sit around crying. And as for him covering his face…maybe he was getting emotional and didn’t want it photo’d. He does seem to be an attention seeker. He went to the hotel & was turned away then came out of the back entrance where the ambulance was or coroner (they had a white sheet up to cover the space from the building to the ambulance door so people couldn’t see if they were removing her body (I can’t believe even said that). He came out w/somebody covering his face & rushed him into a car. WHY?!?!? He’s not Bobbi Kristina or even Bobby Brown for that matter! Brandy was her friend and he was her…..sleeping with her occasionally I guess. His attention seeking azz need to go away. This is one time I wish Bobby has shown up and knocked his azz out for being so disrespectful to the memory of his ex-wife and their daughter looking for his OWN attention.
