Season 4 of VH1′s Basketball Wives kicked off on Monday evening (February 21) with a heated argument between Evelyn Lozada and her ex-friend Jennifer Williams. Clearly that the unfriendly shade between the two is still alive and well, even months after Evelyn took offense to Jennifer’s comment on her love life during a radio interview last season.
Castmember Tami Roman chatted it up with Cherryontop.com and shared her opinion on the two ladies’ non-existent friendship:
ON WATCHING THEIR FRIENDSHIP FALL APART:
From my standpoint, I always looked at them and said, “How are they best friends?” Because I didn’t really feel a lot of friendship love. Like I know my diehard friends, we don’t function in the way they function, so I can’t say that I’m very surprised. I always felt that there was a little tension towards Evelyn from Jennifer. I didn’t really know what it was, couldn’t put my finger on it, but now that this thing is starting to unfold before my eyes, just as it will for everyone else, I’m seeing what those underlying tensions were, and they’re all going to be brought to the forefront this season.ON THE APPARENT TENSION BETWEEN THEM:
I have to tell you on the outside looking in, I definitely noticed it. I always saw Evelyn trying to always be there for Jennifer, but I never saw that really reciprocated. And so, however, okay, well that’s their friendship, that’s the way it works for them, but for me looking at the friendship, something just didn’t really seem right. Now I’m coming to understand what it really was.ON VIEWERS CALLING EVELYN A BULLY:
I think it’s because she’s more vocal. My grandmother used to say, “Sneaky is as sneaky does.” You know, just ’cause you’re quiet and demure doesn’t mean you don’t have your stuff with you too. I think Evelyn and I are similar in the sense that we’re really outspoken about how we feel, and sometimes people can take that and sometimes people can’t, so we actually get a bad rap for being outspoken and saying what we feel. People consider us mean, and people have said I’m a bully. There have been many words thrown out of context to who we really are. So just because Jennifer is quiet doesn’t mean that she’s not doing things behind the scene. I think as people watch the show, they will see certain things unfold that they might not have been aware of, and it may change people’s perspective of how their relationship really was.

Jen is an easy target, no-confrontational and its easy for Eve to lash out on her. Evelyn needs to act her age, because making comments like “If you’re not my friend then you’re my enemy and running across tables is very immature. Her daughter is a lot more mature, classy and intelligent than her.

I think Jennifer and Tami look nice in the pic above. I like Tami because she keeps it real, but I hope she’s not becoming two faced. Maybe there is a reason behind it. Evelyn is an ranchy goldigger. If she’s not beefing with someone on the show, she’s miserable. I think Jen , although she’s a bit bougie is honest about how she feels.
I think theres so much more we don’t know about the breakdown of this friendship. The interviews Jen did could have been the icing on the cake! I do believe that if your my friend you should talk to me about ur concerns over who I date and not the world and in the end if I choose to follow my heart and get hurt have the tissues ready. The problem with Jen is that she did it one more than once and acts like she didn’t know what she said or what she allowed to be posted…anyway this is going to be 1 drama filled season!!

Honestly, even though I don’t like a lot of the things Evelyn does, I have to take her side on this issue. If you are my friend and have been so for 12 or more years, why would you feel the need to talk about how you feel about my relationship or my man to the world? Jen should have said something to Evelyn herself instead of taking it to a blog or radio. Regardless of her experience or how she feels about Chad, she was in the wrong. I can understand why Evelyn feels the way she does. What kind of true friend does that? And for her not to say anything to Evelyn to her face doesn’t make her any better than Evelyn. If she does that to her so- called friend, what will she do to someone she truly dislikes?

I definitely understand where Tammi is coming from, Evelyn was always supporting Jen and Jen just always cam off as not really having as much invested in Evelyn other than a protector…I think Jen’s true character will be revealed soon. These folks will NOT be friends by episode 5, especially since episode 5 has already been taped and mastered! Plus, these chicks have said NUMEROUS times OFF CAMERA that they are NOT friends anymore. So clearly, they will not be friends.

Does she now leave the show to start Football Wives? The only one I like now is Royce, but I didn’t really watch it last season much becuase of the two-faced nature. They are pretty much all Ratchet to me!
Nothing but birds…all of them Tammi–I just can’t stand her…I stopped watching the show after season 2…it used to be a guilty pleasure that and all the other ones ATL housewives and The Braxtons, Love and Hip Hop all the foolery…but then I realized that this is how the world views black women, as angry and loud, “ghetto”, materialistic and cheap, and willing to put up with anything for a pair of “red bottoms”…it’s just sad really…

Right. I must admit that I did sneak and watch season 1 and parts of season 2. I am now too embarrassed to say I lowered my IQ level by at least 20 points by watching that mess. While I was sitting there engaging in there mindless behavior, I could have been reading a book and gaining some knowledge. Ok I guess the same goes for me being on here. LOL.
This is what upsets me the most..and black people should take a step back and look at this…the SAME things black women are doing on Love & Hip Hop, Basketball Wives and RHOA…people view it as ghetto…but when they do the same thing on Real House Wives of Orange County, New Jersey and Beverly Hills…or Jersey Shore even..the term ghetto does not apply…why is that?? This show is so bad. All these black women are supposed to be grown but they act like high schoolers always looking for attention from who ever will stop to listen to bitch hating. They need to refocus and get grounded in showing women how to really love and treat each other with respect. If you are going to be grown then have a platform that brings peace and encouragement in peoples lives. Shaunie, you are the ring-leader so why not get the women in-check so we can enjoy the show.
