Wow, what a legacy. He sounds like a great person. I’m definitely inspired by his example.
He was a pioneer for bridging hip and r’n'b during the new jack swing era.
Where was Teddy Riley during the making of this programme? It would’ve been been really nice to get his insight into his experiences with Heavy. :-/

Wow. This is an AWESOME documentary and very fitting for the type of person he was. He touched so many and his music was always so positive. We got nuthin but love for you Heavy D!
I enjoyed watching this documentary and it showed what kind of person he was. I wish Heavy and Whitney were still here with us.
Thank you very much for posting this!
his siter looks like Tracy Ellis Ross, his brother is nice looking. is it me or does Will Smith look a little thin. What ever happened to Al B. Sure? Other than that….it was a moving documentary.

Thank you for posting. I didn’t get to see this. I have always LOVED Heavy D and have been very vocal about the fact that he was never honored on the Hip Hop Honors. I wrote VH1 and have gotten into many debates over the years about the fact that people like Teddy Riley, Missy & Cypress Hill were honored before. I never thought he’d pass so soon and now I hate that his craft is honored in death. He was very influential to Rap and to this late 70s baby.
BEAUTIFUL AND MOVING !!
loved it !
