Erykah Badu spoke during a press conference on Wednesday (February 29th) in Kuala Lumpur. Her scheduled concert was cancelled due to public outcry of the publication of a semi-nude picture of her with the word ‘Allah’ on her upper body. The photo in question ORIGINALLY APPEARED on Badu’s official website and even though the tattoo was temporary – it was offensive to many of Malaysia’s Muslim-heavy population.
The 41 year-old said she would still come to the country in the future and even took the time to explain what inspired the photograph. Saying she got it from the 1970s surrealist film, The Holy Mountain by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
In addition, Erykah said she understood during the conference saying, “I feel I understand. I don’t have any heavy feelings about it because I understand (the minister’s) position, and I respect the beliefs of the people who also feel the way he does.” View video of the press conference below.

Why it is funny? It was actually a major news story in Malaysia, they needed to have one to prevent riots and more drama. Pay attention, not everything is funny.

In a case where people should be talking about why this creature was banned and how divergent the social mores of the indigenous peoples of the earth are from the caucasian, “western” society, the only thing that negroes can talk about is how well this 41 year old wh0re has held up smh & lol. We all have a right to an opinion. Crazy or not. It would be wrong for him to be blocked simply because everything he says is insane.
