In light of the negative rumors surrounding Bobby Brown, two people in his life have stepped forward to address the accusations of Bobby Brown negatively influencing Whitney’s life.
Leolah Brown, Bobby’s sister spoke with Access Hollywood and talked about how Bobby is not to blame for Whitney’s drug habits and shared her concern for the well-being and safety of her niece, Bobbi Kristina. She also added that she believes that Whitney’s death was not an accident and that “she did not pass away just like that.”
Earlier this week, Johnny Gill also spoke with CNN on the well-being of Bobby Brown and how people are only discussing the negative stories and rumors about the New Edition member. Peep both of their interviews in the clips below.

I know what to believe. While Whitney is ultimately responsible for herself, Bobby Brown was an enabler. As long as she was getting high, that was good for him financially. Men don’t let their wives spiral out of control on drugs and self destruct. If they can’t stop it, they leave them. Strung out Whitney LOOKED and SOUNDED a mess yet he didn’t leave her she left him. No man is proud of being with a drug addict yet he stayed. She went from beauty queen to addicted and he didn’t leave. Who does that? Bobby wasn’t an angel, he had drug issues too nobody said he was perfect, he just wasn’t the reason she started doing drugs, she may have been on them well before they got together and being with a fellow addict didn’t help matters.
i know what to believe and that’s that whitney was using before but started to use excessively after brown…brown used prior w/ new edition but started to use excessively after he got on his own…..too many yes people and not enough focus for brown and whitney seems to have a bum-radar for choosing people who have bad tendencies and trying to fit into their bad lifestyles

@KEEANNA LEE It is sad to say that some people feel like a person is worth more dead than alive. Maybe the business people who had invested in Whitney for years lost faith that she could pull off a full comeback. Some people say to themselves I am going to get my full return one way or another. It’s a sad life, has it’s moments but sad. Alot of people only viewed this woman a walking paycheck. It almost at times can seem like her actual life did not mean nothing.

Whitney was doing drugs before bobby..Whitney’s brother and dionne warwick was both found with drugs. Whitney family grew up on drugs. Bobbie re insured Whitney to never stop taking drugs; before it was an occasional thing but after marrying bobby and have kris it became an everyday thing

Why does this all matters anyways. Not like she is gonna be able to come back to life. Whats done is done regardless if she used drugs before Bobby or upon him being in her life. Im glad Whitney at least made the right decision to leave him alone eventually because he wasnt good for her. It’s going to continue to matter as long as Bobby is still here instead of Whitney. There’s too many people that continue to blame him for her death instead of blaming Whitney. It isn’t right that wherever Bobby goes people are saying it’s his fault that she ever started using, or that it should have been HIM that died instead of her. There are people who are actually mad at him for being clean & staying clean! He is still alive & living with the hatred of some Whitney fans. As hard as it is dealing with her death, EVERY drug user/addict is ultimately responsible for their own choices, even when those choices lead to their death. I’m completely saddened that yet another PERSON (not just a celebrity) has lost their life (allegedly) to drugs!
If she was using so much drugs before bobby, she would have never had a voice to begin with at that time, since drugs took her voice after the heightened drug use with Bobby Brown. It was easy for her to get horse from any type of vocal abuse.
So it’s safe to say if she was using drugs before Bobby, she would have never had a career with her voice so strong when it was strong.

I don’t believe nothing she says cause for her to say Bobby had “NOTHING” to do with Whitney using is a flat out lie. They were codependant for years. I think Whitney was using coke before Bobby. Even in her Bodyguard 1996 tell all Good Girl/Bad Girl he spoke on Whitney putting powder coke in her weed while on her 1989 tour, before she met Bobby. Actually, that was Bobby’s other sister Tina that sold Whitney out. Like the saying goes…it takes a crackhead to know a crackhead! Whitney already had drug influence in her own family prior to her ever meeting Bobby. (her brothers, Dionne Warwick) Birds of a feather flock together.
I don’t think Whitney’s struggles with drugs became any worse after she married Bobby Brown, they just became more public. Her label protected her more before she was married, because there were rumors when she dated both Hershel Walker and Eddie Murphy about her drug use, but the media squashed coverage quickly, probably due to pressure from her label. However, everybody knows that when the media turns on you, they turn on you, and when she married Bobby, Whitney was no longer “America’s Sweetheart,” and the only press she could get was bad press. The public did not start cheering for a comeback until after she divorced Bobby. The fact that she could not get and stay clean AFTER the divorce is proof that Whitney made her own choices about her drug use. I just believe at this point in her life and career, she could not handle the pressure of yet another comeback, and maybe, just maybe what happened in that hotel room was “accidentally on purpose,” but again, Whitney’s choice. I don’t believe Brown’s sister is alluding to murder as much as suicide. The people with Whitney that day were people employed by her – I don’t think anyone is choosing to be out of a job in this economy.
And by the way, Bobby Brown IS NOT CLEAN now. I saw NE in concert in December, and homeboy was DEFINITELY on something, whether legal or illegal. That is for certain and for sure. Even the white security guard sitting next to us in VIP who didn’t even now who he was knew Bobby was high. But I will be an NE, Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston ride-or-die fan (literally) FAN until the day I die. At they end of the day, they are just people with their on demons that they have to live and die with, just like me.
Yes Whitney experimenting with drugs before Bobby, almost every major star at the late 80s early 90s has experimented with drugs. In Whitney’s case the problem is she fail in love and married a man that is UNSTAIBLE. Bobby Brown is not the kind of man any women should marry, he is a disaster. Lots of celebrates have experimented with drugs when they are young but they are smart enough to keep it on the down low and kick the habit when they become grownups and have children. The problem with bobby brown is not only is he a disaster he is also like hurricane how many times was he arrested, how many court appearance do we have by Bobby Brown, How many women have come out about his cheating , baby mamma drama, fighting with his group members, fighting with other artist and celebrities , the list goes on and on…………………….. Most people do not hate bobby brown because they think he started her on drugs, they hate him because not only did he ruin his carrier and image he also severely damaged Whitney’s carrier.
