After a successful run on the hit NYC Broadway show, ‘The Mountaintop,’ Angela Bassett is making her move back into television. The ‘Waiting To Exhale’ actress will be taking on a role as a CIA agent on an upcoming FOX drama series:
Angela Bassett is in final negotiations to star in FOX’s untitled drama pilot. Bassett will play the very calculating director of the CIA who has an unusually large amount of political power.
The TV show follows Jane Forsythe (Saxon Sharbino) an orphaned 14-year-old daughter of a CIA operative who encounters a mystical rogue agent (McMahon) who acts as her surrogate father and professional mentor in the covert world. [Source]
No word on what the series will be titled. On the other hand, it’s good to see her making her way back to television. The last TV show she starred in was NBC’s ‘ER’, back in 2009, where she played Dr. Cate Banfield.
