VIDEO: NICOLE ARI PARKER & HER “SAVE YOUR DO” GYMWRAP

March 14th, 2012

It’s always dope to see celebrities branch out and take on new projects and initiatives. Actress Nicole Ari Parker (best known for co-starring in T.V. series Soul Food) is bringing us an invention that many of us could use while hitting the gym.

Check out the info on the Gymwrap below and watch Nicole’s video right after that.

Save Your Do™ GymWrap is a stylish headband developed with a patent-pending revolutionary “Edge Control Technology” that minimizes sweat absorption through a unique blend of materials that allows heat to escape while letting cool air in. The idea for the Save Your Do™ Gymwrap came to me last year when I noticed a common excuse emerge among busy everyday women (myself included) about why they couldn’t work out: their hair. Hair is a serious issue for most of us women because after spending a ton of time and money to have it washed, blowdried, flat-ironed and curled, none of us want to sweat and mess it up all over again.

Also, 10% of all “Save Your Do” proceeds benefits Sophie’s Voice Foundation, a non-profit foundation Nicole started with her husband Boris Kodjoe that helps to raise awareness for Myelomeningocele (Spina bifida). Their 7 year-old daughter Sophie was diagnosed with the disease when she was just a baby.

Still…WHAT THE HELL IS IT, a garment to prevent you from sweating on your scalp/forehead? Really, Nicole? No ma’am! I work out at least six times per week and it’s impossible to wear a garment above your eyes and expect such foolishness. Do better in your choice of pimping Necole, do better!

I use a regular head scarf when at the gym, and it holds a lot of sweat, which is disgusting. I would like to know what the fabric is made out of. If my head can breath during my workout with this product, then I’ll buy it.

Best to keep the texture of your hair into consideration. Her texture maybe a little different than the average AA woman. Also, her husband made some snarky comments about AA women last year on twitter, I wouldn’t be surprised if his comment is what motiavated her to concoct this invention.

Damn already shooting a sista’s idea down and you haven’t even tried the product. I bet if a white person made it you’d already have two. And looking at Nicole’s hair, it looks like her texture is about the same as most black women. Some people say the dumbest comments…smh.

I don’t see color as a consumer i see quality. she is black and cherokee. now if your her hairdresser and personally know her hair type then i’ll give it to you. Are you a kinky hair chick who is in denial with her hair tupe.

Shut up, you said nothing positive at all. Even in your response. And there is no such thing as black and cherokee. It’s black and native american dumbo.

You say native american and I will say cherokee. Do yourself a favor and go sit down. End of discussion.

I heard her on the Steve Harvey Morning Show a few weeks ago promoting this item but I kept forgetting to go to the site to check it out. Just saw a couple of review on YouTube and it seems like it may be worth a try, so I will be purchasing one in the near future! I think that it is a great idea! Here is a link to one of the reviews in case anyone wants to check it out:

I say go Nicole and yes I will be purchasing one asap. I don’t understand some of the negative comments. What is the difference between her product and all the others invented to prevent you from sweating and keeping cool, during a workout such as: cool max socks, workout clothing, tennis shoes, etc… If you are going to hate do it to all products. I think some people talk just to hear themselves because no one else is listening to their crap.

I noticed that you applied a hair balm. Is the hair balm sold with the do wrap itself?
