Actress Kerry Washington pictured above heading to her interview with Good Morning America on Thursday morning (April 5) in NYC. She was there to to promote her new ABC series, ‘Scandal,’ which is the latest creation from Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice creator/writer Shonda Rhimes.
Kerry plays Olivia Pope (who is partially based on former George H.W. Bush administration press aide Judy Smith) and it follows her as she protects the public images of the nation’s elite. You can check out a review of the first episode here or just watch it tonight (April 5) when it premieres at 10pm.

Hopefully this show will get high ratings, Shonda Rimes usaully creates good shows that reach a diverse audience, and Kerry is a good actress, so I will be watching. Plus, its the first non-cable show with a black female lead that we’ve had in a long time. So we should definitely support it.
I hope this shows stays for the long haul, but seeing as it is a mid-season replacement, and on ABC for that matter, it’ll just be interesting when (and if) it gets the ax. They cancelled Taye Diggs’s show a few years back no questions asked, and it was pretty good.
i watched the show it is really good. drama and suspense. Hope it gets renewed. Love seeing a black person playing a non sterotypical role.
