FASHION: THE FELLAS ARE LOVING LEOPARD RIGHT NOW

April 13th, 2012

Leopard print isn’t just for the ladies anymore. A long held style staple for the fashion adventurous, leopard print has infiltrated its way into the wardrobes of some of Hollywood’s most influential men. Kanye West, Diddy, Terrence J, they’re all wearing more than a hint of leopard, they’ve gone all out with full on leopard sweaters and jackets.

Kanye wore his leopard look at a recent taping of BET’s 106th & Park. Rocking his Givenchy gabardine leopard bomber jacket from the label’s 2011 Spring/Summer Collection, and paired it with a black Balmain hoodie. Some of you may remember him wearing the same jacket last year during the Paris Fashion shows (SEE HERE)..

If you’re a fella who’s willing to take a risk on leopard, and like the hoodie combination Kanye has on, try this $165 Confetti Leopard Hoody from Confetti. You get the best of both worlds. But if you want that strictly bomber jacket look, try this $75 jacket from YesStyle.

Also on the leopard jacket tip was Terrence J as he hosted an episode of 106th & Park. He rocked a WeSC ‘The Warren’ sweatshirt in camel leopard. No need to look for an alternative for this one, Terrence’s actual jacket retails for a reasonably priced $75 at Karmaloop.

Rounding out ‘the fellas who got on the leopard trend‘ list is Sean Diddy Combs. He’s always at the forefront of what’s fly, and it was no different when Diddy wore an Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 leopard print wool v-neck sweater to the 10th Annual Art Basel Miami. It retails for $875, but try this $54 leopard pullover from YesStyle instead.

Well they need to give it back to the leopard. Just because something in “in” so the fashion world says; doesn’t mean everyone should wear it. Not everyone looks good in it.

My thoughts exactly KSYONLINE… Leave it to the ladies. I don’t like the print on the male species.

Leopard never went out of style, but for the life of me I wish Ye and Diddy would invest in an exercise program ’cause if you gonna wear Italian designers, you really need to fit the clothing. They are busting out, and not in a good way.

Well me personally, I don’t see anything wrong w/ men rocking the leopard print…I think ^^ALL OF YOU^^ are just “HATING” b/c U either (a)wouldn’t wear it or (b)wouldn’t like ur men wearing it & I HONESTLY think that is the sad part b/c if people took your advice & never thought/dressed outside the box of “social norms” fashion would be at a stand still & it would never evolve…I mean there once was a time where it was taboo for wpmen to wear pants & look @ y’all now, some of you havn’t worn a dress or skirt since U were a child! My Point Is This: Don’t Knock them just cause U don’t/wouldn’t try it!

i understand but there is a differents between women and men’s trousers. Yeezy usually wears some blouses which i could actually wear and some which were actually designed to fit the female body. What diddy is wearing, looks like one of my sweaters, no joke.

Seems like yeezy should be wearing diddy’s outfit, Diddy should be wearing Terrence’s outfit, and terrence should be wearing yezzy’s outfit.

I can dig the leopard. Just depends on how you do it. 7 driven New Yorkers allowed cameras to follow them as they connect and make moves. inthecircleshow.com

Excuse my militancy but this is nothing but the influential African male being effeminized. This imagery is purposely created with intentions of having this trend catch on with young impressionable males. We need to wake up people, men do not casually wear animal prints.

It’s funny you speak about african males becuase, in africa, roles interms of fashion or differen’t some cultures the men whear long hair and the woman wear short, and as far as patterns and thing sof that nature, what can be mroe african then leapord. We can’t be picking and choosing what we want to define our culture, especially when you don’t knwo what yoru talking about.

Ok commi so you do have some valid points but in AMERICA, in the culture I’m used to, men do not wear animal prints casually. Clearly that’s why most of the commenters here are calling these men gay. Sure in Africa men in tribes or otherwise may dress in a particular way but I’m pretty sure it would be considered normal for them. I can only speak from my perspective. Don’t harp on me, blame the media big wigs who control what they want us to see.

maybe beacause they wear the actual animal and it’s not just for fashion … warmth, declaration of status, tradition, necessity… maybe more reasons than because kanye and diddy wears it in synthetic fiber… trying to justify this fashion misstatement?

I actually think Terrance looks ok, Diddy and Kanye not so much. I think its about how you wear it, if it’s a leopard print blouse like what Diddy is wearing, it looks too feminine. Men’s fashion now is merging with female fashion and I think black men are more comfortable wearing alot of prints and bright colors.I personally don’t like to see men in alot of prints, I think they look better in basic solid colors.
