NBA player Derrick Rose is next up on the men’s publication, ‘GQ’ magazine. The 23-year-old Chicago-native has been setting the basketball courts ablaze and has been compared to the legendary shooting guard, Michael Jordan.

In the magazine’s May 2012 issue, the Bulls point guard shares his thoughts on his popularity and how it feels knowing that the President of the United States is one of his supporters:

ON BEING COMPARED TO MICHAEL JORDAN:
“…His titles drive me. What’s wrong with getting close to the best person that ever played the game? I’m not scared of him; if anything, it makes me work harder when I do train.”

ON PRESIDENT OBAMA BEING ONE OF HIS FANS:
“I remember when he wasn’t our president, when I was a kid, when he’d just be walking down the street, a state senator. He was just always there. I didn’t appreciate it then. I was in high school and just wanted to see rappers.”

ON THE ATTENTION HE HAS RECEIVED:
“The more you win, the more they come. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t take anything for granted. But it seems like the better I play, the more attention I get. And I can’t get away from it. You play great, you get attention. But I hate attention. It is weird. I’m in a bind.”

Lil Wayne is featured on the cover of the upcoming May issue of ‘XXL.’ In the new ‘Hip Hop Live’ edition, Weezy chats it up about the success of his last tour which brought in $50M and shares his personal rituals before hitting the stage. He also talks about his latest endeavors like his new clothing line, TrukFit and his advertising deal with Mountain Dew.

In a recent interview with MTV’s ‘Hip Hop POV’, the rapper talked about a potential album he recorded while in prison. ‘Devol’:

“I was also recording an album at the same time called Devol. It’s spelled D-E-V-O-L because that’s ‘loved’ spelled backwards. It’s my version of love songs. And what I mean by my version of love songs is meaning they’re not saying ‘I love you.’ It’s all material that I did when I was locked up.”[SOURCE]
