It’s a Bran’NU day! Singer Brandy Norwood looks edgy in her new spread for YRB. The 33-year old actress showed off a fierce new and short do and opened up about what we should expect from her upcoming album Two Eleven. She also revealed the relevance of her album’s title and what she sees for herself in the future:
ON HER FORTHCOMING ALBUM, ‘TWO ELEVEN’:
“It’s definitely R&B, but it has the crossover appeal. It’s grittier, it’s edgier, it’s just different type of R&B. It’s not your regular smooth, soft with the beat type music. It’s just taking risks and hearing how I sound over different types of music, and I wanted an album that different people can listen to. Not just R&B, but pop and hip-hop. I wanted everyone to have something that they can listen to on this album.ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TITLE:
It’s the day I was born, and each year, I evolve and change with time. It also has a whole new meaning to it because I gained my angel. My icon [Whitney Houston] is my angel now. It’s all tied in there and I just think it best represents who I am and the responsibilities I have moving on.” [SOURCE]
ON HER EXCITEMENT FOR THE FUTURE:
“I’m just excited to entertain and discover more and more about myself, and through these great experiences like doing an album, doing different roles, all of this stuff, it’s just reminding me of why I’m here and why I’m on this planet. I just want to continue to do everything that I’m supposed to do. It’s all a gift. I’m just so thankful. I just want to be able to do whatever it is that I’m meant to do. I’m just excited to discover more and more about me, because I forgot. I really forgot. While I’m loving Brandy right now, I must admit that I hate the lighting for the shoot. The media needs to simply embrace our rainbow of colors. Brandy has a beautiful complexion and they should have let that be shown. On another more irritating note – why in the *bleep* does she have a *bleep* spade on her head???? That’s *bleep* ridiculous and she should have slapped the *bleep* out of the director of the shoot. “Wow, do whatever you want to me…just don’t call me a nigger!!!” I guess that’s how some people are thinking now; however, racism doesn’t have to be blatant to be real.
Oh, BTW…just watched The Game for the first time in well over a year and love that she’s on there! I’m loving that storyline…can’t wait to see more.
