NEW MUSIC: USHER – “SCREAM”

April 26th, 2012

♫ Usher – Scream

Looks like Usher is taking his soulful vocals to the dance floor again. The talented singer/songwriter released his newest single, “Scream” on Thursday. The song is lifted from his upcoming album, ‘Looking or Myself.’ The electro-pop track is produced by dance producers Swedish House Mafia and co-written by Savan Kotecha.

Usher’s 7th studio album, ‘Looking for Myself’ hits the shelves on June 12 (in the US) and on June 11 (in the UK).

Usher, got a good buzz with Climax, but this sounds like a track left off from his last album. Bring the Confessions era Usher back please!!!

It’s cute, but I agree def. sounds like everything else that’s out now with all this electronic pop/R&B crap, which I wish would die already. He’s tryna cater to that crowd too though, I don’t know why people act like they don’t know the taste. Mariah did it all the time back in the day when she would drop the R&B or what they call “urban” single for the Blacks (i.e. Fantasy f/ ODB), and the pop, non-R&B single for the Whites at the same time (the original verison).

Dope! Usher has the ability to do all different types of music and be good at it. Not everyone can do that and as much as we hate it and I hate to say it Hip Hop is a wrap and so is R&B. Once you have to start listening to straight 90′s music or everything from 2000 and down then there is something wrong. He is exceptionally talented and I would rather listen to him then a whole lot of these clowns.

Techno is being pushed on us And people like you dont have the ability to pick and choose what they likE AND the label execs know it. They dont have to take chances anymore, and stumble on a Confessions, Jagged Little Pill, Back to Black, Thriller or 21. They can just come out with the same crap, grease the palms of major radio station djs and they will do OK. Not Good, not stellar, but just OK with their top artist selling a max of 3 million albums. Enough to make a CEO keep her/his job. Until we demand more of our artists and support innovative music, there will be artists getting a million number ones but the revenue (like the artistry) will dwindle down to nothing.

DO BETTER USHER! Your a vet. leave the label pleasing to the kids.

This is going to be a hit oversees, but when you are talking about the US, its going to be a minor hit. I have been a huge Usher Fan since the beginning of his career ( When I was old enough to remember E.I “My Way”) I thought we found the old Usher with “Climax” but damn it, he just proved me wrong. Don’t get me wrong I like the song, but I just don’t love it like I do “Climax”.If
I hear more song like this I’m slowly going to have doubts about this album. Sorry Usher, this is just not you; leave it to Breezy and Ne-Yo. Yeah, I said it.

Sounds good but, I can’t shake the feeling that I know the intro bit from somewhere else. It remindes me of an 8bit videogame song, like Castlevania or Megaman.
