With her newest album, ‘New Life’ in stores today, R&B singer Monica stopped by Andy Cohen’s BRAVO television show, ‘Watch What Happens Live’ and talked about working with Brandy, her dream duet with Mariah Carey and played a round of the show’s game, “Plead the Fifth.”
In her little round, Mrs. Brown answered questions about which fellow artists had the biggest ego, who she thinks has the worst song on the radio right now and any moments she would take back from her long music career. Peep what she had to say in the video below.

I think it’s because Monica is a guarded person. She seems to always be on the defense in interviews.
“New Life” is a good album, the only song that I don’t like is “Take A Chance” and out of 16 songs on the Deluxe version, I would say that’s pretty good. Someone at RCA, if your reading this “Cry” should be the next single, ASAP.
It’s time to get this Brandy album out, I wish they would have released same day and made a friendly competition promotion surrounding it. That would have been a great marketing tool for both.

I thought that too, but then I thought it was something up with the video like a delay. Monica usually doesn’t lip sync, so I don’t know.
The performance was decent. They both sounded good.
I remember a time when R&B use to nurture the soul like a mother’s breast milk. Hopefully one day we will glorify R&B as we did in the past.

Brandy makes the song. Both women are great at what they do, I just think this should have been a solo song by Brandy.
Monica Lip sync. Brandy sounded great live. You can tell on 4:52-4:54 she was late on “log off your facebook” and she was making too much facial/mouth expressions. Usually when she sings like she just sings and ad libs alot but I guess she was compensating with over worked expressions on the lipsyncing

HHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHA! OMG. THAT ISH IS FUNNY. I just watched that part over after reading your post. Well, How can Brandy not have lipsynced then? She looked like she was singing FO REAL. Confusing.
I loved this performance but MONICA was lipsyncing. I have played the video back several times and she didnt even the mic to her mouth when she began to sing “log off your facebook” close to the end of the performance.
