VIDEO/POLITICS: ‘DAILY SHOW’ TALKS TRAYVON MARTIN CASE w/ SENIOR BLACK CORRESPONDENT

April 5th, 2012

Check out this video from a recent episode of ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’. The popular comedian gave an interesting perspective on the Trayvon Martin vs. George Zimmerman case in regards to how FOX News and other skewed networks were reporting about the case. Every time FOX correspondents or hosts bring up the issue, they change the topic to black on black crime – asking why they don’t see protests about that. In correlation, others believe that the whole ordeal is definitely an issue of racism (i.e. news correspondent, Don Lemon and the recent tweets he’s been receiving about his coverage of the case).

In the clip, Stewart brings out the Daily Show’s ‘Senior Black Correspondent’ Larry Wilmore and he negates all media accusations and tries to pinpoint the real issue, giving guilty people in criminal situations the “benefit of the doubt.” Definitely an interesting way of looking at this whole thing…Check out the political, yet humorous clip below.

I liked the comparison to the Dick Cheney shooting, and nothing happened there because of the benefit of the doubt. Hell, even the guy who got shot was apologizing for getting shot. Straight took all the heat off Cheney and swept it under the rug.

Sad, but true. Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.

Funny, and common sense but so many people have made this a racial thing they’ve beat this dead horse I swear. I’m over it personally. I want to see that law changed ’cause it’s a very dangerous one to have in the books. People are crazy.
