I think the commercial was idotic. They could have just gotten a random person to sing that. Laughing at Burger King because they had to pay Mary for her celebrity and that money was a waste since the pulled the commercial immediately because of the backlash. Maybe Burger King should just make better food instead because even after that commercial I would still not go near one of their restaurants….greasy fast food slop that does not taste good. (Did anyone notice how they said “3 cheeses” and that stuff came out looking cheese whiz. YUCK).

I don’t get why its a big deal that Mary is endorsing Burger King, thats what entertainers and celebrities do, get paid to endorse products, celebrities have been endorsing McDonalds for years, so why is this any different. Also, Burger King has similar commercials with Jay Leno, David Beckham and Steven Tyler endorsing them as well, so I don’t even know why people are bringing race into the factor. Get your money Mary!
I would venture to say that any black person that looks at this and doesn’t take pause, does not know their history (or better yet, our history). You have to understand the implications of things of this nature and examine why some people may take offense… its not unfounded. I suggest becoming a little more media literate. A book entittled Toms, coons, bucks, and mamies is a good start
