The 30 year-old performed for thousands of people during the sold out dates and rock’d exclusive “Ralph & Russo” designs for the show — giving us a “modern showgirl” vibe.

I think people don’t care, anyone that knows music should be aware. Mariah has been doing it for years most notably, you have to preserve your voice, it’s not a bad technique so I don’t know why people are making it seem like a disservice to the fans. I went to the show Sunday and was in the Beyhive pit with my husband, and he mentioned it to me. I know for a fact when she sung Miss You that she lipped the verses but sung only the chorus and ad libs. Also noticed on Love on Top, this is vocally a hard song to do live, I don’t think she’s ever sung it live except for the recording session IMO. But it’s kinda obvious to tell when someone is singing into a mic, and when they aren’t…the sounds are so distinctive it’s pretty hard not to tell.

At the VMA’s there was a backing track involved, obviously. This is coming from a stan. But normally, Beyonce sings live. I’ve seen her many times and I can definitely conclude that she is a live singer – not to say she does not lip any songs. But she sings the majority of her songs – it’s obvious, anyone can tell, like @LULU said. She’s still the best performer/entertainer of our generation.

I so wanted this to be her time to transition from more glitz/glam entertainer to more substance/connect with the people artist. She was on this natural, love my baby, husband, body, life kick…it was the perfect opportunity. The show was advertised as a different, more intimate side of her. What was different – costumes, smaller venue, a few new wigs, different song transition? What a fear is that she won’t be able to evolve gracefully. She WILL NOT be able to wear the costumes/shake booty at 40. Well she could, but it wouldn’t be well received.
I think she has more to offer. As a fan, I want more. Love her talent and drive, but when you’re exposed so much you have to get evolving even just a little bit. I hope she realizes she can be all that is now and come out in jeans and a tee and rock it just the same. Sing about stuff that matters to people now. It makes you wonder if she has any depth or is she really one dimensional.
I just remembered seeing something about Elvis on GMA today. When stars are not able to keep evolving and incorporate their true selves into their work, they usually self destruct under the pressure to maintain. Look at all the late great ones…Whitney, Michale, Elvis, Josephine Baker, etc.

This is exactly the reason why Beyoncé can’t be compared to MJ or Whitney. They are Legends. They could reach people with their words. Beyoncé’s songs are great for dancing, she’s picture perfect indeed, but still when I listen to Diva, or Freakum dress or any other song, it is too shallow, there is no substance at all. Maybe that will change with her next album.

This shit is old and tired. How many times have we ALL seen this same show from her? She came back just to bring back what she’s been doing. Same routine, same outfits, same wind machine set on high. I understand that Beyonce is a Pop artist and they tend to be over-the-top, under dressed and with a million + people on stage but I need to see if Beyonce can truly pull off a ONE woman show. Take away all the bells, whistles and gimmicks and let some real talent shine. I’m not impressed by her elementary school songs, the parade or her drag ball dance routines. Beyonce is the queen of never evolving. Im sure if she came out on stage, put the mic to her ass and farted her fans would say it was the best fart in the world.
The last album I brought of Beyonces was B-day. I used to be a big fan back in 05-06 but she’s been in a rut that she can’t seem to get herself out of. All her songs sound like they belong on one looooong ass album. Nothing ever changes. The pix from the concert don’t even excite me therefore I haven’t even pressed play on the video’s. Bey will have to come with a complete make over and a new routine. If she’s the greatest then she needs to prove it. Dancing harder and harder to the same steps don’t mean anything. Of course she is going to perfect those same moves, she been doing them since forever and the stans act like its brand new every time. Best concert hands down! non stop entertainment and one of the best nights of my life. I will never see a concert as good as this one! Those videos dont do it any justice. it was so much better in person!

I’ve seen all of her concerts since B’day and they all are different. Especially since she has new songs. This one wasn’t even the same as the one she did in Roseland.

I don’t hate on Beyonce, but I don’t like her. I think she was given too many props in the beginning and cannot own up them now. As stated before, nobody is singing alot of Bey’s songs (after Dangerously In Love CD) or DC’s songs for that matter, before we are grown now and those songs (most) are silly, childish songs. Whether singing live or not — Janet gave a different show every tour with different costumes. ijs

Let me say this, its a reason she’s there and you just commenting. Consistency and Persistence ass-wipes! She’s consistent, has been for decades (plural). I don’t even have to speak of her contribution because they speak for themselves, but the main one is she’s setting the bar for entertainers right now. There’s not a stage she hasn’t touched that people didn’t leave wowed. Or even better, sat on the edge of their seats waiting like what is she gonna do next.
