Kanye West premieres the visual treatment for “Lost in the World”, taken from 2010′s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The black-and-white music video was shot last summer and directed by filmmaker Ruth Hogben, who told MTV News “fans are supposed to come up with their individual interpretations”. Wow. Haven’t seen anything this visually interesting in awhile. Very nice. (side note: I’m an older viewer). The video was fresh, artsy, clean, bold and original. I loved the cloud and city backdrop and Kanye’s solo vs. the all female choreography was nice. The feel was broadway mixed with drama… The highlight to me was the dance number during the drum solo… Very expressive of someone “lost” or losing their mind. The director did an execellent job! This is art and only a mature mind can interpret it… Also had flashbacks of 911 with this video… It again did a good job of conveying a sense of disparity and feeling lost in the world.
You’re not the only one. I liked it and am a younger viewer. I felt like he captured the emotion well too; to the point that I could empathize. I love the way the video made me feel like the dancers tumbling through the clouds and mirrors seem as if they were crying for help without actually saying it.
I agree with you ladies. I absolutely loved this video and completely understood it. I remember listening to this album when it first came out and at the time this was the song I related to the most. I feel that he really captured how I felt inside in the video. I think this is one of his best videos yet… and yes, I, too am an old reader.

Lost in a World of models! Him talking about what he don’t like in a teenage rap song! Man this guy is no sprung chicken! Then my mother asked me to look at this pic of Kanye with Kim wearing bright yellow sneakers she asked me was he okay and why was he wearing Crayons? Lol i said those shoes were 545.00 then she said he should get 495.00 in change back. Okay back to that vapid weird video. I got more inspiration from watching Miguel just standing in front of an art portrait singing Adorn! All videos don’t have to be literal. I’m a fan of Kanye but hell that man has really changed but heh when he’s on with his music he is on.

He really will be lost in this world if he marries Kim K, on another note, loved this song from the album, the video is ok, seems like everybody is using abstract images in videos nowadays.

I think the videos he has been putting out are expanding music art. When I watched this video I felt like the concept was sort of like fallen angels or rather fallen people. Caught between heaven and a hell of a world. At certain points the camera and movements made you feel like the people were falling. At certain points you could not tell what direction was up. At certain points the black and white clouds looked like flames. I thought he captured ‘ANGST’ very well and appreciate the video.

I believe the graphics on the video were amazing … Well put together ! More than what I expected , but at the same time not enough. I agree , he could of gave us more.
