Actor and musician Andre 3000 pictured on the set of the upcoming Jimi Hendrix flick ‘All Is by My Side’ in Dublin, Ireland on Monday (May 28).
Even though the Jimi Hendrix estate is not co-signing the film and won’t allow any of Jimi’s music in it, it looks like production is still a go. I’ll be interested to see how this one turns out without the approval of the Hendrix estate.

Interesting. I think itll be good. Andre can pull it off but it will be interesting to not have his music in the film.

A movie about Hendrix without the music? Yes he had an interesting life, but music was such a driver of those experiences. Maybe I’m missing something. Imagine the movie “Ray” without any of Ray Charles’music/performances.
I wonder if they will show that Jimi Hendrix was a monarch child with multiple personality disorder.
I liked Wood Harris’ version of Jimi Hendrix. I think he did very well in the role. I think folks have forgotten that a movie about him has already been done, and it was a good movie too. Hendrix, it came out in 2000…it was made for TV, but still good.
I agree.. I was wondering why they were doing another film..and so soon. Wood Harris did a very good job. I can not see Andre 3000 doing a good job,ok maybe..
Andre 3000 is the perfect choice for a Jimi biopic!!! It’s not just the resemblance between the two, it’s the familiarity of essence.. Andre’s eccentricity and musical prowess both make this movie and choice in actors make total sense… It beautiful
