Tia Mowry-Hardrict dropped by VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live on Thursday morning. The actress/author dished on the joys of being a mother, how she gave her sister Tamera pregnancy advice and of course talked a little more about her decision to leave the BET television series, ‘The Game’:
A lot of people are asking what happened with the whole ‘Game’ situation. And you know it was definitely a mutual decision. It was time for me to go. I’m moving on to other things like writing this book. I just finished doing a movie on ABC Family. And then I’m working on the show with my sister, Tia & Tamera which is premiering on June 11th.
She also talked about how baby Cree has started giving high-fives, saying “Da Da,” and how he has a thing for the movie E.T. Check out the clip below. Nice lip color, Tia!
I don’t believe that the decision was mutual. As a black actress who leaves a successful black sitcom to pursue a reality show w/ their sister? Is she wearing a wig?
Right! The agreement was not mutual. Just a year ago she was excited that the show got picked back up, but now it’s a mutual agreement for her to leave? She needs to have a truth moment.
I agree, I think she was let go because she was probably the most expensive to have under contract.
I disagree. I think it was sort of mutual. She did a standstill for more money and BET did not give her what she wanted. BET promised the entire cast more money after they brought the show for a season back but did not. Right now they are airing the second season on BET. The reality show with her sister has already been on TV for a season so in reality she has been doing two tv shows at the same time. I think it was a good decision that she parted ways with the show because it has gone way downhill and ghetto ever since it was picked up by BET. Also what is wrong with her wearing wigs?…she wears her real hair on her reality show.
i agree she definitely let go talkn about a movie on the FAMILY channel?? girl needs to reevaluate that one! She and POOCH simply got too big for ther BRITCHES and go BURNED! Now she is just another UNEMPLOYED ACTRESS! SAd for her because I honestly don’t see a movie career in her future and pooch is just as Clueless
she was not getting enough money so she left I think thats mutual and yes that is a wig, she used to have nice thick hair I don’t know what these celebrities do to their hair.
Yeah it was mutual AMONG BET, that they weren’t giving you any more money. LOL, if they would have given you more money your ass would still be on BET. Let’s be real Tia.
Plus, The Game’s star is Wendy Raquel and if they had to give her a raise over Tia the decision was probably easy. They can give Tia’s cut to new cast members, I’m sure there are tons of black actors who want to get their career started. Or give Tia’s cut to Brandy, I like Chardonnay. Extending the role of Chardonnay will keep people watching. I see extensions with the roles of Pookie, the girl from the Sunbeams that looks like Nicki Minaj coming as well.
That wig is awful, just a mess!
I still love these sisters, but after watching their show on style, Tia is no longer my favorite. She’s too high maintenance. But still love her and sorry to see her go from The Game. No matter, that show seems to be on it’s last legs.
Its more to this story that will eventually come to light. The book is done, so that’s not a factor. The movie is done so that’s not a factor. The reality show is done, so that’s not a factor. Hmmmmmm, to be continued…………
Just last year she was excited about the show coming back because of things she and the others were told depending on how well the did after being back. But they were lied to because the show came back and did well. They were told they would get more money if the show was successful in it’s return. When it came time for BET to keep their end of the deal, they did what they have often done and went left backing out it. So when Tia and Pooch called them on it and BET couldn’t or wouldn’t agree to the actors’ proposal for the increase they were promised, the parties MUTUALLY decided it was time to end their business relationship. BET has done this to almost everyone who has left recently. The Monique Show is another example of how they mistreat their employees after these stars help to increase their fan base. This is why some many people are turned off and have stopped tuning in to BET.
Tia, stop lying. That makes no sense. You would just up and leave the biggest urban sitcom? I have a feeling that it was an argument involved with either the producers or maybe some of her co-stars…. The same with POOCH and they walked away because they were not happy.
That wig looks a hot mess and too fake. That lipstick isn’t working either.
I also don’t care for Tia. She’s not a bad person, but she can be so stank and high maintenance. Tamera is cool.
Keep in mind, Pooch hasn’t officially left the show yet. He ain’t dumb. LOL, he said “They’re working on it”, meaning he hasn’t left contract negotiations just yet.
Honestly I’m glad shes leaving and doing other things. That show just turned in a lame soap opera with a laugh track ever since it got put on BET.And when her and Pooch leaves the show is gonna be even more done because they’re the central characters in the whole story. I give it one or two more seasons til its over.
Do people actually care? Wow. Shocking. Ever since it got turned over to BET it’s been a load of dung heap trash. Horrible acting, horrible plot, horrible settings, horrible jokes, horrible laugh tracks. Every single aspect of that show very quickly became horrible. To put it simply. And who cares if she’s leaving, she didn’t add anything to the show.. were you actually watching to see Melanie? I hope not. Even her character got unbelievably obnoxious and annoying. Apparently Pooch is leaving too..*yawn* he’s nothing more than eye candy anyway. The Game totally went down hill after Kelly left. She and Tasha were always my favorites.
To be honest, I’d rather watch Let’s Stay Together.
Exactly. The show went downhill ever since it started its broadcast on BET. I definitely think the decision was mutual, as are all negotiations. People forget the show was built around the those two characters; if more lucrative opportunities, or other opportunities in general, arise, you have to weigh your options and do what’s necessary to assure success in your future. The Game is on a steady decline and I just think that in order for them to stay on the show, they would need better compensation; BET said “No” and they decided to part ways. When it’s all said and done, sadly, The Game will suffer because moving to BET was the kiss-of-death, and we are witness to this show slowing dying.
In my opinion, I believe she’s above BET and that diluted program. When BET puts their hand on something it usually turns into cow feces. I tried watching the game, but anyone with a good eye could see that, that show was headed for destruction. It went totally out of its elemnt and instead of evolving the characters and their situtations, it chose to keep taking steps back. BET is trash.. has always been trash and will forever remain trash. Wendy Raquel can’t hold that show. Now if they gave her a spin-off then maybe, but at this point The Game is stuck in limbo and should have ended where CW left it. Its something very low-budget about BET. Its like a curse. BET need to fire its entire creative department and hire people with actual talent to develop its potential. I think about that cheap a– tribute they gave Whitney, knowing she was on drugs. That whole program ruined Whitney’s career. Go to Youtube and look at that tribute and you’ll see what I’m saying. BET is FILTH. Go to real money Tia!
I don’t think she likes the direction the show was going and she quit. Melanie and Derwin’s story line showed no growth at ALL after all of these years.

Well clearly shes lying. More than likely it was money issues. But BET is stupid for letting her go. As people said her and Pooch are the central characters so who is the story going to revolve around? Although The Game was falling off I think its sad to see a popular sad sitcom’s future be ruin for money

BET/viacom wasnt stupid for any decision, she is a MERE actress and can be replaced just like anyone else in that ruthless buissness. People dont understand entertainment is not for the weak, it cut throat when millions of dollars are involved.
If they were being paid millions, Tia would still be there. BET doesn’t like to pay their folks and that’s why the can’t attract and keep quality A-List celebs in the program rotation.
The game been trash for awhile now. Cancel it.
