Just when you thought the buzz around the Houston family had died down, it starts back up again. According to reports, Bobbi Kristina, Pat and Gary Houston and Whitney’s mother Cissy have just signed up for docu-reality series about their lives, following the passing of the iconic singer, Whitney Houston:
Three months after Whitney Houston’s sudden death, her family has signed on to do a reality series. Lifetime has picked up The Houston Family Chronicles, a 10-episode docu-series to premiere later this year. It will follow the lives of Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager, who now manages her estate; Pat’s daughter Rayah; Whitney’s brother Gary; daughter Bobbi Kristina; and mother, Grammy-winning singer Cissy Houston, as they try to pick up the pieces after the pop star’s untimely death. Apparently Pat Houston has had the idea of an unscripted show based on the family for a few years now and had been working on developing it. According to her, “the unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show. However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward.”
According to other reports, Bobby Brown wasn’t too happy about the news and really wanted his daughter to be a part of his reality show. And Cissy Houston supposedly thinks the show will serve as good exposure for Bobbi Kristina’s singing career.
What do you all think of this? Who thinks this is too soon?
MEAGAN GOOD & LAZ ALONZO STARRING IN UPCOMING NBC SERIES, ‘INFAMOUS’
Earlier this year, we reported that Meagan Good and Laz Alonso will be starring in a new NBC series called ‘Notorius.’ Since then the series has been renamed ‘Infamous’ and a few episode screen shots have been revealed. In the series, Meagan plays the lead role of detective Joanna Locasto, while Laz Alonso plays FBI agent Will Moreno. Peep the official synopsis down below:
When wealthy socialite and notorious party girl Vivian Bowers is found dead of an overdose, no one is really surprised. The heiress to the Bowers pharmaceutical empire has been tabloid fodder for years: wild, pretty, privileged… and now dead at the age of 32. But for FBI agent Will Moreno (Laz Alonso, “Avatar”), things don’t add up with this suspicious dynasty.
Convinced that the troubled girl’s death was a homicide, he has a clever plan to get to the truth. Her name is Detective Joanna Locasto (Meagan Good, “Think Like a Man”). Twenty years ago she was Vivian’s best friend and practically grew up inside the Bowers’ home. And when she appears at Vivian’s funeral, the family re-embraces her and no one is the wiser. Joanna quickly begins to uncover dark secrets and clues about why Vivian’s life was very much in danger. At the same time, she rekindles an old romantic relationship and rediscovers the allure of the luxurious lifestyle she once knew. She’s about to see once again just how the other half lives… and dies. [SOURCE]

ABC’S ‘SCANDAL’ RENEWED FOR ANOTHER SEASON
After a successful run and a mouth-dropping season finale, ABC’s ‘Scandal’ will be returning for another dramatic season! The series’ executive producer Shonda Rhimes (also behind ‘Grey’s Anatomy) tweeted her excitement on her Twitter account saying, “Am super proud to say that @ScandalABC has been picked for a 2nd season!!! Am doing a little dance of joy. Still waiting to hear on PP…”
If you haven’t see the show, the lead role is played by Kerry Washington. In the series, Washington’s character Olivia Pope is the head of a crisis management firm and a former mistress of the President. Columbus Short is also a part of the cast with the role of Harrison Wright. You’d have to watch the show to know the plot, but it’s pretty juicy. Interesting fact: ‘Scandal’ is the first network TV drama with a black female lead character since 1974′s ‘Get Christie Love!’
