Earlier this month, Jill Scott recorded her episode of ‘VH1 Storytellers’ in front of a live audience at the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom in New York City. She put on a show by getting into character (as seen above) and showing off different sides to herself and music.
The singer performed some of her fan faves like “Golden,” “Crown Royal” and “Come See Me.” Shortly after, select people were invited for an after party celebration at the Ink 48 hotel with appearances from Janelle Monae, former American Idol contestant Michael Lynche, Bravo TV’s Chef Ruble and Concrete Loop’s own Angel Laws.

I love Jill Scott’s music but it looks like she doesn’t have a stylist and she really needs one. If she does have a stylist that person should be fired and given a job working at Rainbow or Deb because everything Jill has been wearing lately looks like its straight from the sale racks at Rainbow.
I can appreciate her down to earth image. It’s not over the top and she’s not trying to project “Hollywood”, rather she is Jill. A woman, a person just like you and I. Diamondchick, what you perceive to be missing by way of her style is why we simply love her. Be confident in what you create for yourself. That’s the problem with the industry. You become a creature rather than a creator. Much Love!
I am in no way saying that she has to conform to hollywoods twisted view of a woman. You can achieve a down to earth look with out looking cheap. Her clothing simply looks cheap to me. She could look chic, confident and down to earth without looking like she her clothing won’t last one wash in the washing machine.
