YESSSSSSSSSS POC!
He is definately in character…. He plays Lafayette Reynolds on the show and Lafayette is the gayest person i have ever seen. I Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee True Blood. Cant wait until Sunday.
Is the black dude in character or is he really gay?
LOL he’s in character – I think. He plays Lala who is gay.
I LOVE TRUE BLOOD!!! I was soo doped about CL posting on the black characters! That’s wassup. Can’t wait for the season premiere
@ INDIGO
No he’s not in “character”. He’s a h0m0sexual, and had to be just to get the part on that show, because he had to perform h0m0sexual acts with the casting director. He’s in “character” if he “acts heterosexual” outside the realm of the tv show. If you look at the cover of the magazine, he is doing the “silence” sign for Harpocrates. The ONLY way that you can become a leading cast member on a show like this (which was conceived with the foreknowledge that it would be MADE a hit show) is to be “in the know”. Period. I notice that the biggest fans of this show tend to be caucasians and black females (big shock lol). “TRUE BLODD” is another in a series of programming mechanisms utilized by the entertainment industry with the purpose of making society at large embrace witchcraft, the worshiping of the dead, and pagan rituals. Witches, vampires, and werewolves have been a persistent and consistent theme in Hollywood from the start. At first they were the villains in the “horror” genre, but Hollywood has systematically went about trying to make occult themes “sympathetic” and “relate-able” in tv shows like “Charmed”, “True Blood”, “Teen Wolf”, “The Ghost Whisperer”, etc., and movie franchises like “Harry Potter”, and “Twilight”. Now children are taught to want to be witches, vampires, and warlocks. Recently, the programming being pushed the hardest is the “zombie” programming and everything that comes with it i.e. cannibalism.
I’m glad they brought Tara back.
He is in character, he’s not really gay. There was an interview about it, explaining how Alan Ball needed to find the right person to play Lala and not take the character’s homosexuality to the extreme. So a lot of thought was put into casting him. The actor draws from his mother and sister in how he should portray Lala.
@ KURENAI
Yes, that means that he conjures another spirit within him so that he can portray a “character”….and again, for someone to get a role on a tv show that they already know they are going to push and publicize until it becomes a “hit” (whether people actually like it or not), the actors must take the oath to B@phomet. Again, that is why he is doing the “silence” sign for Harpocrates on the cover of the magazine. He is an initiate. He is doing his acting in real life.
I love True Blood! Happy they didn’t kill lafayette off like they did in te book series. His character is hilarious!
They killed Lala off in the book series????? Omg!! Maybe he’ll die this season?
I love True Blood. Thinking about getting HBO back just so I can watch the new season
Tara is back NOOOOOOO kill her off!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay she’s back.
Lafayette makes me laugh. He is a funny dude lol He is the extremely feminine dude that wears all of the makeup and jewelry but fights like a manly man…..I don’t get it.

How annoyed do you get when people can’t differentiate between Nelsan and Lafayette?
It annoys me when the industry people are like that but I can’t just get upset with regular folk because all they see is the character. But when the industry can’t tell the difference, I’m like, “Damn that’s a little closed minded,” because when white people play a character people expect it to be a character. But black people—we can’t just be character actors, we have to [really] be the things we’re hired for, which is what offends me. I don’t answer that question, “Are you gay or not,” when it comes down to industry people. But if it’s a regular person asking me, that just says that maybe I’m doing a good job. But when a casting director or an agent asks me that question it takes on a deeper thing that says, “I can’t believe you’re doing this unless you are that.”
I will never understand the hoopla of this show. However, it is definitely not up for speculation or inconclusive that all the black men on this show’s tank is filled with fruit punch, skittles & blow pops of all flavors. SMH @ any man willing to take a role like that or even be photographed and published looking like that on a cover of a magazine.
SMH @ your homophobia and bigotry.
That dude-woman or tranny looks scary
Nelsan Ellis is not gay, who cares anyway, he does an excellent job with the character! People need to read more than one website or comment from a bigot before they go spouting lies and trash about a person’s life. Remember he is a person, just like you and me. He is not a sexual orientation. Let’s all be real and remember: IT IS JUST TV.
