♫ Joss Stone – (For God’s Sake) Give More Power to the People
♫ LISTEN BELOW ♫
Remember Joss Stone? The English singer/songwriter is gearing up for the release of The Soul Sessions Volume 2, nearly a decade after the 2003 release of her debut album The Soul Sessions.
Set to be released July 31, the album follows suit with soulful cover songs, including The Chi-Lites’ “(For God’s Sake) Give More Power to the People”, which you can preview below. The first single, a soulful take on indie rock band Broken Bells’ “The High Road”, will be released in the coming weeks.

Love Joss Stone! I remember when she first came out…she had SOOO much soul. I really thought she was going to blow but I guess she’s just taking her time. Dear Adele, please forgive me, but I love Joss Stone too. There’s room for the both of you in my heart. Love, Krysti.
Never could get with her
you and me both.
WTH do you mean do we remember her? If you know anything about music and don’t have your head all the way up mindless trash like Nicki Minajs 89 pound ass then you know Joss never left. She’s been releasing steady music for the past 7 years.
LMAO @ NICKI’S 89 LB A$$!
calm down, queeny. i don’t listen to any of the garbage on rotation and this chick is far from my radar. she won’t be around long…she’ll be less memorable than taylor dane. *shrug & yawn*
UGHHHHHHH I love me some JOSS STONE! Her vocals are KILLER <3
I love Joss, I have been a fan since she came out! and have all of her albums I am looking forward to her coming out with more music, but honestly I wasnt feeling this paticular song
@The Loop, I guess you guys slept on “Introducing Joss Stone” and a handful of other albums that she’s done since “The Soul Sessions” Too bad, you guys missed some banging tracks.
doubt it.
I like it… a lot!
Amazing how white folks will cover and make soulful albums while black folks running behind white producers to make Eurocrap dance music.
White folks by white folks’ music period. Black folks don’t support black artists so much. Also, not all of the ‘Eurocrap’ is bad. It is ok if it is not your taste, but some people have a more diverse palette that includes your MGMTs, Neon Indians, White Rose Movements, Interpols, Empire of the Sun, Swedish Mafia House and then some. Just because you’ve negro ears does not mean black artists most constrict themselves to a very narrow box. Artistry is supposed to be about exploration. Also, Joss Stone and white artists have run behind black producers trying to garner crossover appeal WHEN R&B dominated the pop charts. The difference between black artists who are attempting to appeal to the masses and Joss Stone is that she said has never been pop. There are plenty of black artists who stick to doing soulful music that were slept on such as Van Hunt, and haven’t done EuroPop and still have yet to get the attention they deserve so what point is it that you are attempting to make???
*commencing dramatic eye roll* ppl like what they like…this mess is hot. why listen to imitation soul? and a poor imitation at that….pass.
I do not like this track. But on another note, most of her songs that are decent have been covers. (Still love the White Stripes cover which made her famous, though in love with Jack White period. Concrete Loop, why didn’t you feature his new album? Very ‘soulful’ for those who care to know). I always thought she was a tad overrated as far as her lyrics go. I much prefer Adele over her. Or Nikka Costa.
I don’t like it. I’m guessing this is for a late 30′s and older crowd?
Yayyyy!! My girl is back
