Actress and comedian Yvette Wilson best known for her role as Andell Wilkerson in hit 90s sitcom, Moesha, has reportedly died after a battle with cervical cancer. Just last month, the 48 year-old had a fund setup by friend, Jeffrey Pittle to help with her medical costs. She was reportedly suffering from kidney problems and also awaiting a kidney transplant prior to her passing.
Her friend and ‘Moesha’ co-star, Shar Jackson, who has been on twitter for weeks asking for prayers for Yvette, confirmed the news on twitter late Thursday, tweeting:
F**k Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh god….. My heart is soooo unbelievably broken …. I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.
Yvette also had a role on ‘Moesha’ spinoff The Parkers, along with many other comedy films such as Friday and House Party 2 and 3.
Very sad news. My heart goes out to her loved ones.

I just heard about Yvette having cancer on another blog last month. We are losing so many of our black celebirites left and right, within the last few months. R.I.P Yvette Wilson aka Andell!

I’m saying, she used to stop by jamie foxxs radio station all the time, Apparently they used to date and were still cool which is why she became a regular on the show for a while a couple of months back. Me being a fan I was wondering why was she asking the public for help when she has rich friends like jamie, Monique ? Brandy ? hell shar, and who ever else she might have known. None of them could help her ? Damn.

I’m not trying to start anything or accuse anybody, but she couldn’t borrow from Brandy? If someone I worked so close with had an issue like this I would have be willing to help out. Maybe her and Brandy wasn’t close anymore or whatever the case maybe. This is so sad. I don’t know if it’s because she was young or if because she really didn’t have such a successful career, but I really feel bad for her. Like I’m almost as sad as I was when Whitney died.

I’m so sorry for the loss to her family and friends. It’s very selfish of others to see someone in pain and sick and never contact them or never ask if they could help out financially. I have a good friend and her husband her helped me out with my medicine after my second surgery. The medicine ran like $80 one filling. That’s showing love. And they are blessed for helping others. Why can’t more famous people be like Oprah and just give? You can’t keep all of it to yourself. Sad…

People don’t realize medical cost to try to beat cancer is up in the hundreds of thousands. That is a lot of money to “loan” someone who could probably never pay it back so u might as well say “give”. I don’t think Brandy is that rich. I don’t know what make people think that co-stars are BFF??? If one of your co-workers from 15yrs ago need a lot of money would u give it to them.
Brandy Is a little you know what like her mother made her I wouldn’t expect her to help but MoNique, Jamie Foxx hell even Ice cube could have helped. MoNique said on a her show when she had a parkers thing and got the cast together she said Yvette was her girl and how sorry she was she couldn’t make it.

This is so disheartening! Man what is going on. Cancer is killing like crazy. I have to go to a funeral tomorrow for my cousin who died from cancer. Something ain’t right. Too many are dying from this for it to be something that just happens. I will miss her, she made Moesha and the Parkers funny! She’s the second Moesha cast member to die that I know of. I wonder how Brandy, Countess and Monique are taking it?
