PICS/VIDEO: MEAGAN GOOD NEW FACE OF ‘PINK SMOOTH TOUCH’ RELAXER + B.T.S VIDEO

June 4th, 2012

Actress and newly engaged Meagan Good has been chosen as the newest face of Luster’s Pink Smooth Touch product line. Following the footsteps of Keyshia Cole and LeToya Luckett, Good is now the official spokesperson for the hair relaxer line Smooth Touch. Her face will also be featured on Luster’s Limited Edition Pink Smooth Touch New Growth Relaxer Kits.

“Like so many other women, it’s important that my hair always looks its best. I mean, great style and healthy hair is a must especially as an actress, producer, and singer. I’m always on the go and need something that can take me from a 10 hour day on set to a night out with my girls,” says Good. Smooth Touch® allows me to push the edge on style whether is cropped short and sassy or flowing curls and body,” said Good. In the behind the scenes video for the new Smooth Touch campaign, Meagan shares why she loves the Smooth Touch Relaxer and believes it makes the hair smoother and a “great base to build any hairstyle.” [SOURCE]

Check out a behind-the-scenes clip from her photoshoot for the Pink Smooth Touch campaign. The relaxer kits will become available during the first week of June 2012.

Exactly. My first thought is to protest or boycott her. Lol. I can’t take this seriously. Healthy hair? This idiot was on “Good Hair”, surely her simple @ss knows that creamy crack is NOT healthy!

What was she saying in “Good Hair”? I couldn’t get into that movie… I remember seeing a few female celebs in it,and some were saying they wore a weave and permed their hair. Was Meagan against perms?

they photo shopped the hella outta her. Im not gonna judge anybody especially ppl I dont know and in her case by her movie/tv roles, but I cant take her ass seriously as a real actress. Shes pretty and got all that sex appeal but there is something so raunchy and ho-ish about her. IDK

@ Cheers, are they banning relaxers? There will always be people who want straight hair,no matter what the health risk are. They can ban relaxers, but there will be ppl cooking some up like crack for real. All they need is some lye and a white potato. lol

      @INDIGO

No they’re not banning relaxers lol. But there will be a time when black women (the majority) will stop using them. When black women stop using them, they will no longer make them. At least not at the rate they do now.

      @ Indigo

I wonder, if yt people used a product as dangerous as a relaxer, if they would attempt to ban it or regulate some how? What do you think?

@ circ1984… I’m gonna say this and I’m saying it in a sisterly way..Girl,stop making everything a black and white issue, that’s how you lose focus on the real issue, the root of the “problem” “YT” take drugs right? lol Ok then..can’t stop that! lol An “army” couldn’t regulate. And,,, anything that is harmful to blacks,do you really think our goverment is gonna stop it? LOL I’ll answer for you… NO! That’s why there are sooo many choices of relaxers. lol “Kill ya selves off,we don’t have to get our hands dirty”

      Anyways…
They do relax their hair, and perm it too! There was a time when non blacks wanted afros, and they had to put chemicals in their heads…Back in the 80′s non black women where perming their hair like crazy, they still do today, but they are willing to pay $300 and up at a salon to have it done. We are the only ones spinning ourselves into butter about some hair! “Is that her hair?” “Is that real remy?” “My hair is longer than hers” “Her hair is nappy” and so on..you get where I’m going. lol Why worry about the next mans head? What make relaxers so dangerous is,people abuse them; anything you are addicted to,you abuse. On the topic of hair, people need to find what works for them and stop focusing on the masses.

Sidenote, now that “Yt” see we are starting a “hair war” between natural hair and non natural hair, their plans are still in effect.. “Kill ya selves off,we don’t have to get our hands dirty” That’s the real issue here,us being divided…

lmao @ finding a sisterly way of explaining something to me! hahahahaha! I wasn’t trying to make it a black & yt issue per se – but now that you bring it up- I was just trying to get your perspective on it – there’s a lot of things that society is trying to regulate or ban as “not good for you”. Like banning smoking in some public establishments & housing – regulating the amount of sugar that folks on welfare can buy etc., again, i just wanted to know your thoughts on if more people in this society – used RELAXERS if the govt would try to regulate it. Thanks for trying to speak to me “sister to sister”. Much appreciated.

There are so many things that are harmful to ppl..You hear everyday some kid in the subs getting high off of everything, from baby oil,to tic tacs.lol Can’t band bleach? The reason smoking is banned, because of second hand smoke..and cigarette damages. You relaxing your hair doesn’t give me an headache or anything else. lol Now, I understand where you are going,I read “yt” and…But a perm is not that serious, either you use it or not..It doesn’t affect your everyday quality of life. I haven’t heard anything about people on welfare and sugar.. LOL #Google

Yeah, you might want to google. There are a lot of bans going into effect. You might want to also watch Good Hair, the documentary shows how damaging it is to our hair & health.

i wonder the same thing – i haven’t had one in 13yrs…but the truth is natty heads like me are still quite rare. the majority of black women would lose their minds if the us banned relaxers.

Trust me there are plenty of people who still perm their hair. I think it will be a while before they stop. The stander of beauty is still straight, long hair. In a time where fake hair, fake body, fake eye lashes, and heavy make up is king…I don’t see perms going anywhere for a while. Team curly hair.
