Believe it or not, there is more than one Kanye West living in this world. A 28 year-old woman (formally known as Linda Resa) changed her full birth name to that of her favorite rapper. Last week, the diehard fan plead guilty in a Manhattan court after “throwing an amp through a Times Square storefront window“:
“Miss West, 28, was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree for her diva-like meltdown. The aspiring singer who busks at 41st Street and 7th Ave. said she had lost her cool because her cheap amp charger fizzed out during her opening number — a cover of “Videophone” by Beyonce and Lady Gaga. Wearing a large afro wig, West barely got past the line “Shawty, what yo name is?” when it died.
“I’m normally very sweet. I have a little bit of an anger problem,” she said. “I threw the speaker and it hit the window. You know I didn’t see the window there because there were cops right there.”
The amp smashed the window of an Office Depot by the Times Square subway entrance, and she was arrested.
“I was feeling cocky and powerful so when it happened I just flipped.” [SOURCE]
Back in April 2011, the Chicago-native changed her name to Kanye West and got a tattoo of his name on her rear end. She says she did it to show ‘Ye that she isn’t a regular fan (…well clearly…). She has now plead guilty and has been charged with criminal mischief in the third degree.
When asked why she didn’t change her name to a female artist’s name like Beyonce, she replied, “Cause I don’t want to sleep with Beyonce.” Smh
