I think the production did kind of resemble Aaliyah in certain aspects. In JoJo’s latest interview, she said she was revamping her upcoming album because she want to give it a 90′s R&B feel, which could be why it gives it the Aaliyah feel. From 40′s work with Drake’s inspired Aaliyah tracks, I think she could’ve possibly inspired some aspects of “Demonstrate”.
Nonetheless, JoJo indeed did her thing with this one. i’ve been a supporter of her music since she came out with “Leave (Get Out)”, and I have bought both of her albums. I’ve been waiting on some good ol’ R&B from this girl because her voice has always been suited for it.
With the right marketing and promotion, this song will definitely be a hit. Glad to have her back in the game
