Wow, he had no wife no children and lived in Texas. Let’s hope he has family, do we really want the state of Texas to control his estate??? I pray tonight his affairs were in order and that does not happen. This goes out with the most respect, because I loved his entire body of work and learning he had no wife or children at 74 is “just different”. I could be in the same boat on my day, no spouse no kids. different, yet loved through my work!

He was a s0d0mite. That is how he was allowed to “break through” in the 1970′s. He had a good role on “The Jeffersons” though lol.

@Judah. Have you seen the YouTube video $atanic Hollywood. Jay-Z is wearing a swear that says the quote, “Do what thou Wilt.” I was shocked but not surprised. This whole thing is really being shoved in your face.

I saw him wearing that t-shirt a long time ago. He wore that shirt back when he was filming the “Run This Town” video. That’s when that pictire was taken/footage was shot. Thay don’t particularly have to hide. Most of these people are idiots.

I hope it wasnt true that he was gay. Gross. Need to stop all that with intestines. We all have to abide by Gods rules and gays are no exception. They really think they will get off by being gay while every one else doesnt.Think that. Think wrong.

Aww, Amen was my show. My sister and I would wake up early in the morning, before we had to start getting ready for school, just to watch it. I’d still watch All In The Family and The Jeffersons if I still had the channel that plays the good old shows.
    Sad.

I was just watching The Jeffersons yesterday, then when I got home from working out and turned on the tv. Inside Edition said that Sherman Hemsley passed away. Last night I also watched Amen when Clarence wanted to be MC Hammer. Thank You for all the memories and your work. I can’t believe we as losing so many of our black celebirties left and right. Rest In Peace, Sherman Hemsley aka George Jefferson and aka Deacon Frye.

It’s sad that he’s gone. He was funny in almost everything he did. However it wasn’t shocking. I thought he was a lot older than what he was. He never seemed to age! I thought he was 50-60 on The Jeffersons. He was bald then and he was only 30-40. Well wherever he is he’s with Wheezy having a good ole time.
