(Not checking the video via the damn timon and pumba show) Great cause everyday I try to be the best and help people, its just the lil things, if u can donate, do it. Even though I hate the UN (fraud), I signed in and Im proud Beyoncé used her stardom to raise awareness, I think its just the beginning for her and she looked beautiful.

Awareness to WHAT, exactly??? to the fact that she cant formulate a coherent sentence? To the fact that she boasts about her many millions, and reminds us about how we arent worthy of being “passengers on [her] plane”??? Countless celebrities have been doing this sort of thing, but the difference lies in HOW….the tact. Princess Diana, Angelina Jolie and many others have gotten to the core of the problems, getting their hands dirty….Beyonce puts on a designer dress, books a concert and makes sure as many cameras as possible are present. No one’s “hating” on the woman…we’re just not fools

You are an idiot. You dont like Beyoncé yet you comment more than her fans, all up in her posts? I mean what kinda logic? As they say, if you love someone, they are in your heart, if you hate them, they are in your mind, so they stay winning while you stay miserable spending time talking and writing pamphlets about their lives! What kinda logic? Would you for once put your hate aside and do something good for today? That’s all that was asked. Hating and criticizing everything the woman does is irrelevant to your life, wouldnt you agree? It is a waste of time trying to convince people about how you think somebody you have never met once in ur life is evil and a fraud. She will continue to live to the fullest and as she pleases, be loved by millions and prosper. And you? Have a nice day.

@IWH when have I ever said I didnt like Beyonce? Recognizing a “fault” in someone, and voicing it does not equate “not liking” them. Grow up….mature a little. “Beyonce is loved my millions”…of people who have never met her or know her personally. I, on the other hand, am loved by God, my family and friends…a good 25-50 people who love me for WHO I AM…not for illusions that I put on display. I’m not saying that Beyonce doesnt have that, but you seem to be insinuating that a person who isnt “loved by millions” isnt loved at all….what a way of thinking. Also, let the term “hating” die….it’s really juvenile. Thanks, and nice day to you too :)

I can smell a hater by miles so please stop. Nice Try though. I do dislike the word as well so choose another one to define yourself, someone who always highlights the negative and nothing will be positive. Beyoncé is loved because she touches millions with her music and shares her talent by entertaining us the best way possible. She is stunning and works hard for everything. Just like you, she is loved, I am loved and we are all loved by God for what we really are. You talk about God but HE is not here for ppl who ridiculously judge other ppl the way you do in every of her posts. From what we can all see from our outside view, Beyoncé is a nice, beautiful woman who happen to be extremely blessed by the same God we all pray. I’ve never heard ppl who have met her making bad comments about her because she treated them right. So I dont get your point. The designer dress and Beyoncé herself are not bigger than what you and me are supposed to see from this worldwide event and video. And this is why youre an idiot, I repeat again. It’s about doing something good for the next person, it’s about paying hommage to these admirable people who make sacrifices, it’s about willing to leave your mark positivily in this sad world. Reducing Beyoncé to some lyrics of her song is completely ignorant. “Diva” is a club song inspired by Hip-Hop, same movement that brags about materials and money for over two decades. It does not mean rappers are bad people who can not help the next person or do philanthrophy. Princess Diana dedicated a part of her life to charities (what did she have to do?) but it didnt stop her to visit those children wearing her expensive Princess outfits and diamonds. Angelina Jolie is a UN ambassador but adverstises for luxury brand Louis Vuitton and lives a fancy life. And your point is? Beyoncé is a musician who is there to entertain. She is no UN ambassador or a Save The World Hero and never tried to be. The UN, among many singers and songs chose her song and her to perform because they felt it was right to do so. Period. It is no Beyoncé concert, it was organized by the UN and had families of the soldiers and UN agents who lost their lives in the audience. People were moved by the images and the cause, by the lyrics, not mainly by Beyoncé. There is no need to be mad at the messenger that she is, she is using her voice to help. If she declined ppl would say she was selfish, now she doesnt, ppl still complain. She will never win so if she can do something right, well do it anyway, there is no reason to talk bad about it. Someone somewhere is gonna be touched by that or the lyrics of “I Was Here” and will react. Probably not you, you are busy here acting up. If you dont like it, move on on your life. Simple.

Thats sickening!

….while we’re discussing “haters”, @IWH, we’re not going to talk about how you vilified me on here, only to turn around, head to the Teyana Taylor post and talk about how “manly” her features are. Let’s act like that didnt happen. When I’m voicing my opinion on Goddess Bey, I’m “hating”….when you ridicule people for things they cant control (their looks), you’re simply “commenting”…right? Pick a chair…warm it up.

@IWH She doesn’t touh people’s lives, people want to see a pretty face, shaking, and singing and living “the life”. Are you kidding me, please dont be so naive to think she is our her changing, saving, and or inspiring lives. When I was younger I wanted braids like brandy, she didn’t inspire me. The kids and unfortunately some adults, like beyonce for what she is, a entertainer. They want to look like her and dress like her at the club on the weekend. smh….

Typical bahaviour from haters! I read you from far. LOL. I write dissertations because I can actually, at least I make sense. You comment on everyone’s post to spit your words agaisnt Beyoncé, who is spending more time? LOL LOL. As far Tee Taylor, mmm no, this is not hating, she indeed does look manly, so does Grace Jones or Ciara, but it absolutely does not take away that there are stunning women. I like her and love “Google Me”, no biggie here. You will never see me trying to bash her for a humanitarian work or any great cause. If Beyoncé today will take credit for a specific clothing style and it was not her true like Teyanna is doing, I will put her in her place by telling the truth. Simple.

I just puked. She’s shallow, unoriginal, a thief (songs, ideas, etc). This sh*t is boring. A high school drop and her former drug dealing husband want to move to a different social class. (Hint – money and class are different) They should live that dream through their child who has a shot at being the high-society socialite they dream of. The child will need more nips and tucks than her mother, that’s for sure.

Beyonce is full of it… Just like Belafonte said her and her egomaniac of a husband don’t give a crap about the world. Sadly black blogs give them a pass everytime not acknowledging that their selfish celebrities. This “cause” does not require bells and whistles just honesty and she lacks this. I can’t stand Beyonce because she comes across as privileged when knowledge wise on world issues she’s dumb as a box of rocks. She’s smart at shaking her body for $$$. Then she ask the First lady to be her child’s godmother r u serious? Who does that!

THANK YOU!!!All I heard is: “When I…” “I was here”….”I did”….”Everything that I wanted” “I was here” “I want to be remember. “I,I, I , iiiiiiiiiiii” “me, me, me, me”!!!!!! . No, not selfish-self-serving at all. Yes, people, I agree that we should be proud of such a successful black woman…but she isnt a deity….not a saint. Let’s call a spade a spade…this woman is as fake as it gets. She’s got a lot of “undoing” to do before the genral public trusts her motives.

    • Reign

She looked beautiful as usual, but the message was lost, I think. I felt nothing, it did not evoke any kind of passion to make me want to do anything. Personally, I don’t need it, but I thought the purpose of the video and all the hoopla was that the video would compel listeners to want to “do something.” It was boring and all I got from it was “I this and I that” “I was here” OK, but what did I do to advance my community forward with the legacy that past generations left. And I don’t want to hear about what’s being done “behind the scene,” we need inspiration and motivation that comes from seeing/hearing about the great things she and others like her are doing to insure our future legacy. Our Ancestors did it for us, we should be paying it forward. I do it on my small scale, but it sure would be nice to see people with her kind of money and resources start a movement of real change….every culture takes care of its own. We just take the money and run, these days. It’s great to enjoy yourself and live it up, but that’s not the complete purpose of this life. Don’t come out with this kind of stuff unless you have passion and you truly are “bout it bout it.”

You wana reach a billion, Bey, put on some shorts, mosquito repellant and go into the trenches; Africa, India,South America, and help with your own hands. Actions speak louder than glitzy music videos. Remember lady Di? When she passed, over a billion assisted her funeral, and her message of love spoke to all of them. She put the “crown” aside and went to work. Do the same, QUEEN bey!

Ok, so this was a great video and message. When she originally recorded the song, I do believe she had a different message for it. In response to the earlier message about the “I,I,I and me, me, me”, this was intended for YOU as an individual to sing/say it as she was. Meaning you go through the world (or your community) and you can help people and say and know to yourself “I was here” and that YOU made a difference in that place. @josephtoler

Beyonce did not write this song it was written by Diane Warren. I don’t understand why people just act so evil and jealous of everything she does. Everyone that gives to charities do not always blast it. Its no ones business what people do with THEIR money. No disrespect to Harry but I have not heard of any charities your kids or family give to and I know you do. Oprah gives to many we don’t know them all. Don’t understand of all the celebrities that give or don’t give why was Beyonce and Jayz singled out. Hell I could name 100s of celebs and athletes that I have never heard about giving any money or having any foundations. People need to worry about what they have given HATERS ask yourself I AM HERE!!! WHAT HAVE I GAVE??

A boring self righteous dry ass video and song. Bey and the U.N. both could have kept this. She is not face for anything involved around humanitarianism and the fact that they would use someone who most feel is as fake as a $3 bill, is absurd. I really have a hard time taking her serious and her interview with Anderson Cooper was embarrassing. She could barely formulate a proper sentence. Great cause but wrong spokesperson and song, it did nothing for me

I’m Confused, so how are you going to release a video promoting being a humanitarian and you’re not in ONE clip doing humanitarian work?? SMH we know that you were you were beyonce. You were in a beautiful auditorium in your fresh white dress Beyonce. Thats where you were because you surely wasn’t getting your hands dirty being a TRUE HUMANITARIAN.

That’s it! The white dress and pulled back hai evokes a sense of pureness, perfection and superiority. Huge disconnect between her and what shes trying to get across. Even the song is perfect pitch but lacks soul and connection. Would have been a great opp for her to show herself and other clebs talking about their causes in the video, show people’s twitter comments about what they r doing, etc.

I guess it’s a good start….But I wasn’t inspired to do anything nor did I learn anything from it.

Oh!!!! She should make a documentary about one of the causes that’s near and dear to her instead of about her life. If she wants to raise awareness. I’m just saying.

    OVER!!!

She wants everyone to know that she was here showing off her voice screaming as usual. This video would have done more justice just with the scene of the message of the people in those grief-stricken situations with just the music heard. She was just a distraction for it’s not about her (once again making all or mostly about her). Those images should’ve been in front her. Other considerate singers would lend their voice and let the images speak for itself. This video just makes it so much about her more. I’m busy tryna see the images and not have her block it. She should have stood to the side and sing. It was refreshing to see her not give that usual stupid grin grin grin. I think music in the background was enough and she was not needed, hardly.

Ok… so everyone came on here without actually understanding what the message behind the campaign actually was.. This video is a part of an international campaign funded for this day. The images in the video were provided by international Aid organizations and the song itself was selected by the campaign designers…. Beyonce was selected..she did not offer her services and did this campaign for free to communicate the message of this day… That no matter how small your efforts are you can make a difference. They are not trying to get 1billion Youtube views.. they want you to watch the video and then go to the website and see how you can aid in the efforts. There is an option for you to check in once you have done your act of humanitarianism… They want to see 1 billion of those checkpoints on the map when they are done with the campaign. I think the venture is brilliant. I think Beyonce is one of the only stars that could garner the recognition and attention needed for this to happen and I think alot of you are jaded in your opinions of the woman. Please read up on things before you comment.. its an important step in efforts to avoid looking stupid… PS I interned for the WHO and heard about this venture over 2 years ago in its beginning phase…Way before Beyonce was an option and her name has always been in the mix…

EVEN WHEN PEOPLE ARE SELECTED TO BE THE FACE OF SOMETHING, THEY GET FAMILIAR, AT THE VERY LESAT SNAP A QUICK PHOTO OP WITH SOMETHING THAT LOOKS REMOTELY LIKE GIVING BACK. INSTEAD BEYONCE DOES THE USUAL, USES THIS “PLATFORM” AS ANOTHER RESUME CHECK TO SAY, IN MY BEYONCE VOICE “I’M A HUMANITARIAN” SMH… SHE’S NOT OBLIGATED TO DO ANYTHING WITH HER TALENTS OR MONEY, BUT IF YOU AGREE TO IT, THAN AT LEAT GO DO IT.

@Neil—I agree with you 100%, I see that you’re a vigilant citizen like myself. I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, this chick is as fake as a $9 dollar bill (her marriage was fake, her pregnancy was fake, she wears fake hair etc. etc) & I don’t see why people can’t see straight through this transparent heifer. She’s an illuminate puppet, when they pull her strings she moves. Have you noticed how robotic she appears at times? She’s NOT who y’all think that she is, she’s just carrying out an agenda to distract the masses so that they can finish carrying out their plan :-/ Wake up America, they are trying to dumb us down so that we can’t think for ourselves & then they’ll finish what they started. I know that this is off topic, but now would be a good idea to start stocking up on all of the non perishable food that you can get your hands on, stock up on batteries, flashlights, ammunition, water, a survival preparation kit & anything else that you can think of that’ll help you & your family survive the things that are about to take place…..new world order & martial law are real & if you don’t prepare yourselves now then you will regret it, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Stay vigilant, take the blindfolds off & please spread the word to all of your family, friends, coworkers & anybody else that will listen to you.

That’s the thing. People don’t want to listen until it’s too late. My family and friends are aware and that’s what matters to me. Some people are too far gone. These celebrities are doing what they are paid and controlled to do. Deceieve the masses and it’s working. I’m done trying to open the eyes of others.I know what’s going on and so does my loved ones so that’s it. People have to learn the hard way and to actually get black people to listen to anything period is a whole other story. If it’s not Gucci or Louie or a ten pound weave or Christine Louboutin shoes they can’t comprehend.

Ok I totally see what you’re saying but remember she has to work; it’s her job :) Also, she is one of the few celebrities who is very private and not saturating social media…no twitter, no instagram. Relative to many others, she keeps to herself. How is she seeking attention and why do you people hate her so much? OMG! I actually wish she sought attention more, so I would see more of her :D

Hell she just as confused as the rest of us about what they wanted of her so as usual she said ok I’ll wear a white gown look pretty and and sing my little song then my job will be done. The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Education is fundemental!

I think that it’s funny people are mad because she is giving back… She has done more then me, and as she continues to grow will do more.. I mean it’s lame of someone to judge another for helping the less fortunate and taking small and big steps to make a world a better place… Everyone on here is simple minded.

Say what… Say who…this lying bat may have u believing this ain’t about her image….u see the A-team knows she screwed that godawful perfect rep up with the higher than mighty scandals she has failed at pulling off…. U see striving for perfection with all the wrong reasons … Will alwayz backfire and shoot u in the foot.. In this case the hole in her red bottom shoe is just as transparent as the emptiness she lacks for anything other than her dam self!!! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that a Woman that calls herself King Anything…. Ain’t that sweet and definitely no where near HUMBLE!!! She has growed alright into a self righteous Monster and u are a prime example of the dummies she leads 0n a string, that are just as vapid and empty as her!!! Bahaaaa and in that ORDEr!!!!!

I didnt get the concept of the video. All I saw was a lady who looks great and have a great body with an eight month old. She just showed video clips of American Red Cross workers saving lives. I want to she her in those videos rolling her sleeves up and getting to work. Also, I’m sick of people running to third world countries and cheesing like they’re saints, what about America???? I wont be happy until I see Jay-Z visit every blck community in the country and speak against drug abuse and violence and Beyonce at every girls club, high school, junior high/college and university and speak about respecting your body and self. I want to see her in a girls locker room in a Houston high school talking to young blk girls. Im a hater whatever!!!

It’s funny how a female artiste wears skimpy clothing and she is villified as some whore or a person who does not “respect their body.” However, Usher or Lil Romeo is on a Mag Cover with their pelvis in our faces, and everybody gets all hot and bothered…double standard much? Women are sexual beings as well and they should be free to express themselves as such :)

i love B’s music, and always been a fan. BUT what has she done to help millions?? Im pretty sure she has donated a lot to charities, of course she has. But what really would have made that performance very special is if the video played behind her would have been her giving out water, clips of her visiting those 3World countries lending a helping hand and not just money and awareness, you know??

What difference does it make how she helps or how she gives. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Everything cost money and if she chooses to donate millions of dollars I think thats amazing! And all celebs don’t have to be vocal about the charitable work they do

All this negativity over something that is suppose to be positive is just disgusting. It seems like she can’t make anyone happy. If she isn’t publicly helping she isn’t helping enough, and when she becomes a spokes person for a good cause shes being fake. I just don’t understand why so many people are against her. She appears to be really career driven, she seems to care about people, and she delivered one hell of a live performance. Why can’t we simply say job well done!

    Money, race and power

As for as many, Beyonce (herself) is one of our strong Afro-American females. She is well know through-out are cultural society. Not trying to impose the race card. Could someone please tell me why is she NOT a threat to White Americans. Are they using her? Even though she’s a singer, we as Afro-americans are opinionated but we look upon answers to her next current events that follows. When I read comments it is suggested to me as though she is a threat; in which this was purposely accomplished from someone. It’s killing me to know what is the problem with this situation besides she’s not politically involved but has more money than the president? Isn’t the whole race in society is stirred through politicians because of who should get the most money? Maybe she’s the answer to our prayers into being successful individuals and work hard by ” Any means Necessary” at what you really want in life. So if we don’t turn this around and follow each others lead successfully at any profession. We will never ever make it in which this confusion is stirred by the “Main Stream Marketing Media in what they are using her for. So, If she can’t make white people mad as oppose to a threat as an Afro-American, then what is? Don’t say cause she got money cause the more money you make the more you are in control of people’s lives (white). What are we looking like during recession? Stop feeding into their marketing concept and move forward cause nothing is really wrong to white Americans, but us.

yOU CAN never STOP being famous so to ask Beyonce to sit down and stop receiving attention would be a little unreal to ask of her seeing as though she JUIST came off of a 2 year hiatus during which she still received unsolicited press. and the fact that you all spent time to type such HATE filled message blows me away. NOT hate as in HATER…but HATE as in literally dismissing even the positive things someone is doing regardless of intent. Im rather disgusted at the comments I just read. Who cares if Beyonce is over exposed or if she really means what she has done with WHD! There were millions of people who had the opportunity to help someone else who on any other day wouldn’t have lifted a finger. Lets clap for that and simply dismiss and keep silent on things that don’t inviolve lifting someone else just for this one moment….disgusting man just disgusting …

I lost all respect for this video when the camera focused on her backside at the beginning of the clip. Not to mention by watching this, I realized that human beings were the cause of many of these catastrophes.

I 100% agree with Neil. Even Anderson himself asked Beyonce if she planned on visiting some of the countries being helped by the U.N. The fact is Beyonce has enjoyed almost two decades in the spotlight, and if she hopes to continue she needs to show us something real, not a pre-planned, pre-packaged, over the top performance. World humanitarian day is a joke in itself. People do good things every day 365 days of the year. Why do we need a specific day to commemorate that? And a random day at that August 19? Really? Beyonce plays it safe when it comes to making any sort of political statement, and when you have artists like Lady Gaga fast on her heels, who are not afraid to voice their opinions and stand up for controversial causes, Beyonce just looks boring in comparison. IMO she should take a break, educate herself so that she feels more confident speaking publicly and come back when Blue is around 5.

    LES PETITS

The video would have been more relevant if the images were showing her in action with people, on the ground. Instead, it is a bad juxtaposition of her very rich self next to very poor/sick people around the globe. I do believe the H. Belafonte’s comments were about this, being aware that it takes more than a fancy dress to be involved. Belafonte took risks by mingling with the such of Stockely Carmichael and so. He would be seen in protests. He put his life at stake. It was no career move. Artists of this generation are career-focused and got it easy. None of them Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé are involved in the black community or in any sincere humanitarian action, because it demands more than just being successful, money equals status but that’s it.
