As reported last week, Drake was indeed working on some new music using some old Aaliyah vocals. Check out the track, “Enough Said” which was produced by his long time producer Noah “40″ Shebib. Rumor has it that Drake will executive produce an upcoming posthumous album from Aaliyah…

I really wish Drake would just leave Aaliyah and her legacy alone. She didn’t know him. She might have never wanted to work with him. He, and his auto-tuned cry, need to have a seat.
!!!!!
I dunno girl, I’m a huge fan of Aaliyah’s (which I am sure everyone is) and I would love to hear all the stuff that she recorded and left behind. All in all, if we all think this rumored project shouldn’t happen, THIS song……………… IS HOT. I really enjoyed it. Whatever he does coudln’t make us see her in less of a light. She will always be amazing. I want to hear more w/ or w/out Drake.
I wasn’t a fan of Drake producing any Aaliyah material, but, this was actually pretty decent. I do agree that Drake has an unhealthy obsession for a woman that he never knew. I mean the tattoos, constant comments about her…..he needs to seek professional help! Lol
OMG…My Life is so lonely .how about you?I am a rich and single man at present .I need a woman who can love me back .I also uploaded my hot photos on –Millionairetag.com –under the name of jeff1098..It’s the largest and best club for seeking CEOs, pro athletes, doctors, lawyers, investors, entrepreneurs, beauty queens, fitness models, and Hollywood celebrities. Please Check it out!I’m serious.sdtwe
i disagree, who wouldnt want to hear AALIYAHs music .. exspecialy after over a decade!!! im not sayin that drake wasnt wrong for what he did but ,, AALIYAH didnt really cuss in her songs, and i dont think that she would apreciate drake cussing in her music that she has left behind!!! R.I.P TO THE BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED AALIYAH DANA HAUGHTON <3
i think your totally wrong . you just have a seat . he can do whatever he wants . he has money , and i bet neither him or aaliyah give a damn about your opinion . both of them are great artist , and when great artist come together they make great music . your just hating because you cant do the same .
this song is BLASPHEMYYYYYYY!!!
AMAZING. I know Drake is getting a lot of flak, but let’s not let it take away from the music. Drake did Aaliyah right with this song. It’s so haunting and lush, just like Aaliyah’s vocals. I love what 40 did with the beat, so atmospheric and simple. Sit back and enjoy the music. Aaliyah, still slaying your favs in 2012.
Loved it!!!!
He should go for it!!!!
#TeamDrizzy
He should leave it alone, he didn’t know her. Why is he executive producing an album. Guess what the money from that album is going in his pocket!! So wrong, I can see if Timbaland and Missy did this. Why are they green lighting this album? Her last one was good. Smh
I’m just not feeling the pyramid A with the dot in the middle (eye) and the owl in the right hand corner. Something is going on…
aaliyah used that A when she was alive. That’s nothing new. The owl is Drake’s logo for his company I believe..
So right, glad someone else picked up on it too!!!!!!
LOL you need to look at the AALIYAH album cover, that’s the same A she used, it was her new logo at the time
yeap drake is signaling that she was indeed a blood sacrafice thats what the owl means and yes the a logo also adds to the legend on her last album cover she had 3 pyriamids representing her name and the album cover was red representing blood sacrafice again i’m not confused anymore she was murdered in a ritual sacrafice.
Yes she was a bl00d sacrif!ce but she was a $atanist herself, so what goes around comes around. She starred as the Queen of the Undead in her last movie. That $atanic world is dog eat dog.
Does anyone have proof that Aaliyah was a satanist or a member of the illuminati?!
I’ll wait. Sometimes people say the craziest things. As an Aaliyah fan for many years and a person who actually got the chance to meet and speak to her family after she died and herself a month before she died I can honestly say that statement is a bit off. The artwork you see showcased above IS in fact from her last album “AALIYAH” and I believe it was inspired by her love for Ancient Egyptian culture. Now does that make her a satanist?! Absolutely not.
I find that unfortunately mostly African American people (I know this as an African American myself) will run with a few YouTube video information or misleading radical religious information rather than doing their own research.
Aaliyah and her brother Rashad were born in Brooklyn, NY during the time of a black consciousness movement. Many if not all of her immediate family members have Swahili/African names. Her uncle Barry Hankerson (who’s logo is opposite of drake’s owl) even decided many years ago to name his record label Blackground as a statement of blacks being a force in the business part of the entertainment industry. A very rare thing at its inception. In addition to this, Aaliyah has in the past commented that was a Christian and she also felt close to Ancient Egyptian/Kemetic culture because she felt it was part of her spirit. She stated she remembered seeing the positive images at family gatherings as a child and often meditated as such. Her brother Rashad a writer even created the treatment for her video “4 Page Letter”. Which was based on the story of Horus/Heru. Aaliyah also had a few tattoos representing her connection to the culture including a sacred Ankh symbol on her wrist and an eagle on her back as a dedication to her grandmother. STILL this does not make her a “illuminati satanist” again and for the last time.
Yes she played Queen Akasha in the movie Queen of the Damned. She chose the role to be able to play an Egyptian Queen (name another young black actress that ever got the opportunity to do so in a major film). She even boasted on how it was a dream of hers & how she always had Ancient Egyptian things all over her apartment. & If anyone knows the history of the movie and its influence including the akashic records and African bloodlines, day walkers and vampirism etc you would know that if she was a sacrifice (for arguments and enthusiasts sake) it definitely wasn’t because she was a satanist or part of illuminati. & If she was a member as you stated along with the statements others saying she was a sacrifice this would be contradicting and extremely ignorant to what the “illuminati” has been written in history and even rumored to actually be. SOOOOOOOOO in summary PEOPLE PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BLACK PEOPLE: PLEASE READ AND DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH before you assume all kinds of things to distract you from what you really could be concentrated on. Which is finding the inner you and your purpose of being here.
At only 22 years old Aaliyah really focused on this message through many of her interviews. Although she was respectful not to exclude many of her fans of different beliefs, she made it quite clear that she believed she was put here for a reason and that she was going to do everything in her power to accomplish her destiny for the doing of good. Before she died she bought the book “Seat of the Soul” by Gary Zuka and gave it to many of her industry friends as testament to her spiritual journey. & To this day I haven’t seen an entertainer her age so balanced, well educated, articulate and reserved. All the while almost angelic in beauty, filled with immense talent, and gracefully humble.
Let’s celebrate her for what she proved herself to be instead of judging her by rumors and random things said about her when she’s not even here to defend herself.
*P.S. all the personal information I stated here is all based on fact from interviews in her own words. Don’t believe me, research it YOURSELF! its there.
Peace and Love.
Wow this is unreal. I don’t know what to say about some of the people on this site. The sheer blindness. I too was an Aaliyah fan but I also know what she was involved in. I have my own facts but don’t care to write a novel about it. It has nothing to do with you being black it’s straight up common sense. When things fall into place and the truth comes out I want to see how many people that said Illuminati was not real and blood sacrifices never happened and that these people care so much about their families that they would never hurt them and that places like Bohemian Grove doesn’t exist. Neither did sex slaves, blue bird programming, Monarch programming, mind control and a list of others things, I want to hear from you and see your faces.
While, I will say something about her death is untimely and suspicious. I will also say when you are interacting closely with some celebrities its hard to believe some of the conspiracy theories. At the end of the day this is an entertainment site that has people on the “inside,” on here. They probably view these comments and start to chuckle like these people are crazy. There are others working in the “industry,” that are on here and they “know,” there is truth to what is being said. I believe that just like in masonry there are tiers and levels. Same with celebrity. Not all celebrities are going to experience the same treatments and degrees. A celebrity like Britney Spears and Michael Jackson most certainly will not have the same rearing or even treatment like some of the artist that get forced fed to us from time to time. Therefore, not all of the are knowing what they are doing. There are some artist that are packaged to us. They do what the label or whomever suggest and they rise to fame and never know what they are doing.
Michelle, I love that you mentioned all of that to the Aaliyah fan. Because, this might help them on their quest. Don’t go chasing white rabbits @MusikPro.
@ michelle and Rehabkid. I agree with you both to a certain degree. Please do not misunderstand me. I never said the illuminati doesn’t exist. I’m sure that is obvious it exists for many different reasons. I’m saying people fall into the trap of pointing the fingers in the wrong direction. I find it funny that all of these illuminati bloggers and commentators specifically within the African american community have pointed the finger to black artists (in this case) Aaliyah when she was a 22 year old kid. Do you really think she had any power to make decisions? If so then why was she sacrificed for your arguments sake?! & Why do they choose to focus on Black artists successful in entertainment? Think about that for a minute. Other artists and entertainers have been labeled/rumored as “illuminati” but I dont hear their communities talking about it in resturants, hair salons, during class at school, having sermons in churches name dropping celebs, tweeting their lives away etc etc. I don’t see half of this focus on the banks you put your money in everyday, the companies that own the products that are distributed in our communities, the programs you watch on television, the nature of our communities’ living areas, or the influence to build your own beliefs that resonates with your inner self. I mean I refuse to research (not watch in a youtube video/ or read on an anonymous blog) all about the mind controlling that goes on GLOBALLY and say, “I’m going to go on a blog post of the new song and music video as say “ILLUMINATI”!!!! Ok. Now what?! What has been accomplished?! What do the youtubers and bloggers say is their goal?! If I’m blind please enlighten me on how I can help you and a group of others make things change and put the pressure to those that are STILL ALIVE and proven to be directly involved. If not then we can agree to disagree, my intentions are not to mislead anyone.
and P.s. I didn’t write a novel. & If that was too long to read then its hard for me to believe you’ve taken the time to read and check your research and or facts on such things anyway. & I don’t chase white rabbits nor do I give negativity attention within my psyche to substantiate itself bigger than I naturally have the power to destroy as it has been prophesied no matter the choice of faith.
@Musikpro. I understand what you are saying and yes I am completely aware that it is not only the black entertainers that are involved but this site pertains mostly to black entertainers so that’s why I comment on this. Most of the music, fashion and movie industry are involved in this. I speak on it because I think it’s sad that people are born into or coerced into doing things that they probably don’t want to do. Some of them know exactly what they are getting into. I’m almost positive Aaliyah was introduced to this and maybe she wasn’t aware of what was really happening to her much like Tevin Campbell but we all do grow up and we know right from wrong. So you’re right we can agree to disagree. I don’t get upset when others have opinions. You feel the way you do and I feel the way I do. And please believe me I have done extensive research on the things I speak of. Things like this need to be talked about because we have our children unaware of what they are listening to and who they are worshipping or idolizing. I’m aware of the 13 families that have been in control of this world. I’m aware of the fact that Chase Bank, Bank of America and Citibank are the top three banks that you should not have any ties to. I’m aware that this county is actually a Corporation and that Great Britian and the Vatican runs the world. I’m aware of the garbage they sell in our supermarkets and the plan to take down the black woman and man. I’m also aware that people would rather be lied to then accept the truth. So yes I am aware of what’s going on around me and to a lot of people that’s a problem.
At the end of the day, who really gives a backsplash of a spit about what the celebrities are involved in? I mean really. Unless you are going to cloak yourself in some armor, rent a tank, and lead a revolution, WHO GIVES A RATS ASS? All of these conspiracy theories and religious hearsay is just that… Shit that people who are either one dimensional, non-artistic, and/or easily manipulated by hyperbole are quick to believe. Does the industry have people whose careers they control and images that they carefully structure? Sure. Is it likely that a record company may “sabotage” another artist’s career to promote a different one? Sure to that too. Are they off in a factory branding mothereffers to die and constructing huge airplane crashes and then some like the Stepford Wives? Probably not. Even if they are, WHO THE HELL CARES. There are more important matters going on in the world. How about you wage a war against human trafficking, poverty, and all the real issues ongoing. KTHANX.
@ noma’am Satan!sts worship owls
Actually he did know her. There are pics of them together on the net.
Why is there an owl on the promo cover? I don’t like the owl.
I think the beat sounds good. I loved Aaliyah.
I take back my “knew her” comment. Maybe they didn’t know each other “well,” but they knew “of” each other and I don’t think he’s harming anything…(Unless the song was terrible)
For me, “having known her or not” isnt really the issue…there are many dead artists whose albums are being produced by people who werent even born when they died. My problem is that Drake failed to maintain the “Aaliyah sound”….he basically ripped her vocals and pasted it on one of his tired tracks, and inserted a rap verse. Disgrace to aaliyah. Thats like taking a Mahalia Jackson vocal and pating it on a Kirk Franklin track and having kirk rap….I mean shout all over it.
um boo…those pictures are photoshopped to the max. when aaliyah passed drake was only known as jimmy…in canada!
the songs sounds like any other drake song. it’s nothing special. it’s great that he’s a fan but he needs to leave it alone.
@Jesusbeliever please, help yourself…..when Aaliyah died, Drake was bout 13 yrs old. Youre not the brightest light on the tree.
Someone in the other post wanted me to believe that the Drake/Aaliyah was obviously for fun, but I knew what I was talking about. This particular photo was designed to deceive the public and force-feed Drake’s agenda. He’s assuming a role in Aaliyah’s estate and I don’t have a good feeling about it.
LOL at Eric, that “someone” was me, and you were right.
He didn’t know her that picture was a photoshop. He needs to cool out with thinking he has the golden touch with music
Whether or not they knew each other is irrelevant. No I did not study the pic. I saw it once. Who cares. If u don’t like it don’t listen.
Be blessed …lol
That was photoshopped you dumbass!!! The Original was of her and her brother. The just took his face out and replaced it with Drakes!!! Wow dumbest thing I have read all day. Thanks dummy!!!
Aaliyah sounds beautiful in a way that only Aaliyah can. The melody isnt memorable at all and the track gets a bit cluttered. Drake comes on too aggressively on the track…it’s almost offensive. Also, I dont like how the track has a “Drake sound”….same basic idea as Marvins Room. Aaliyah had a sound that only Missy and Tim can reproduce. Fall Back Drake, please.
Great critique, I totally agree. The song is just “iiiight”, but the production sounds very safe. Really, this could just be on a random mixtape, not an official album. Aaliyah’s sound was really on some next shyt before she died. This tries to be solemn and soft like some of her other songs, but it comes off too safe. I don’t expect any posthumous album to be perfect, but this song just doesn’t scream “Aaliyah” to me. And I’ve heard other songs from other artists that make me think “that sounds Aaliyah-ish”, but I don’t get that from this song.
@JEM, wow!!! You’ve made me realize this too, just now; I’ve never heard someone else’s music and thought: “this sounds like Aaliyah’s stuff”. There are a few artists who are that way. For example, you KNOW a brandy harmony when you hear it, Andre3000 has a ceertain flow and demeanor, the late Amy Winehouse had a certaain tone aand phrasing, and Aaliyah had that “aaliyah sound”….edgy, delicate but still a bit “gangsta”. This track dose try to sound like some of her more angelic and soft songs, but it fails miserably.
right, i feel Drake did to much with this one. I’d feel really comfortable with Timbaland and Missy with this one. I’m also questioning why they never did anything with Aaliyah vocals…..wait, that’s call respecting her and letting her RIP
FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave Aaliyah’s stuff alone no one but Timbaland or Missy should even recreate anything dealing w/ Aaliyah drake is wack for this & whoever gave him the ok is wack right along side him!!! SMH @ hiphop & all the passes everyone gets b/c they supposedly hot… RIDICULOUS!! I aint even listening to it I know its wack…
I haven’t listened but I hate Drake at this moment for touching anything Aalyiah
I don’t think it’s bad I’m a huge fan of Aaliyah and this song jus keeps a memory alive. Go Drake it’s hot, secondly i don’t think Missy ,Tim and her family would allow him to disrespect her in anynway,
No he ought to be ashamed of himself. He can’t even get Aaliyah’s opinion or input on the song. He doesn’t know whether or not she would of liked this. Why? Because she’s dead. The beat isn’t saying much either. I’m disgusted. Is he definitely sure that he’s fan of Aaliyah because I’m sure real fans like her legacy just the way she left it.
They could have left this one alone. Or at least came harder with the beat. Its a alright song, but I feel like they could have done wayy fuckin better (c’mon, it’s an Aaliyah song we’re talking about)
Love her vocals!
Nice. It does have that signature Drake sound.
….which is the problem.
Drake ruins it (as expected)…just leave the girl alone. Her work was timeless and can stand on its own. We don’t need this fool trying to recreate Aaliyah’s sound. I can’t stand Drake.
As an Aaliyah fan (Check the name) I think it’s hot! I just don’t know how her family feels about this.
They Agree to it:) It’s A Must Get Permission; Every time Tupac songs get used or remix; Mommy is getting paid:) Drake made this one come alive:) Beautiful just like AALIYAH:)
I was never a huge Aaliyah fan but I do think he should leave her alone. He has this strange obsession with her .. I’m a fan of Drake but this “thing” he has with Aaliyah is a little weird.
I love Aaliyah! I can’t blame him, I guess for wanting to have her live on through music, buuuuut at the same time I personally wish he’d leave it all alone. But who am I?
I guess he’s allowed to use the Aaliyah and Blackground logos as long as he’s not earning money for the song? How did he get his hands on Aaliyah’s music?? Her estate should have more control over that, especially with the family saying there’s no truth to a new album.
Not her music. I meant “vocals”.
This was great song for Drake to put out as a first single for the album and for every saying Drake should have put Missy and Timbaland on for producing purposes sound foolish.. Drake had to get permission to use her unreleased tracks/vocals from his brother and mother before recording.
I think what Drake said and what Aaliyah was talking about was coming from two different places and btw, what made him think he would be able to pull this off. When I heard her voice, it made me sad; I miss her. I miss her voice. That sound could stand without Drake. If anyone were to do something Aaliyah”est”, it should be Missy or Tim. I know those closest to Liyah will be feeling some kind of way about this. Drake is still on my, “HeWackasFck” list. This Aaliyah track ain’t no return from the #Dead card for him. He still needs to gtfoh taking this track and NM with him.
Why Drake! why? why the thirsty ass campaign! Just cuz he’s an obsessed stan and a successful (i use the term loosely) artist doesn’t mean he can accurately produce anything that sounds remotely authentic, or is capable of embodying her signature sound. Not to mention he never knew her, or her tastes sonically/creatively. Thats why the song sounds like her vocals on one of his tracks (& he could have done w/out the corny ass “yo wussup”) Furthermore, I think people with a little more skin in the game deserve to produce this album,,, I.e. timbo or missy!!!
This was the hardest thing to hear giving the fact I knew drake as talented as he is had is hand in it. This song is the biggest next ever!! That recycled revamped and replenished “marvin’s room” beat is tired. Its easily forgettable and only notable because we haven’t had a new Aaliyah song in years. It was so cut and pasted I thought I was back in elementary in art class. damn you drake. I don’t want a full album of “marvins room” which is what it will definitely give. Just cause your a fan and have a couple hits yourself doesn’t mean you should be qualified to touch what could be one of the most important albums in forever, if thats the case If we can’t get Missy and Timb I would at least expect some of the other heavyweights to make this album what it should and need to be.
Cut and pasted? I heard beautiful over laping and soft transitioning. C’mon people, what do you expect with posthumous recordings?
When I first heard the track I was put at ease. It sounds beautiful to me. I absolutely adored Aaliyah growing up… Her sound, her beauty, the way she carried herself. To hear her voice after so long was like a rub on the back… A reminder of her talent… A beautiful voice. All Drake did was give breath to her memory again, and as a fan I appreciate it. Especially since the song is true to Aaliyah legacy: sexy, smooth, and street. Drakes verse added the street elements.
All the talk about logos, personal agendas, missy and timberland, marvins room, this that, up and down, left and right are just a waist of time. I think a lot of the commenters on here spend WAY too much time over-analyzing things. It’s just a song.
Also, I love the fact that her voice sounds a little bit different. Almost aged, as if she never left us… That in itself is beautiful. Im not gonna press over wether the family supports this because I KNOW they do (the song turned out well).
Wether she was a sacrifice is between the perpetrators and God. I will not destroy her legacy cooking up such thoughts in my head, especially if there is a chance it’s not true. That is the real meaning of not allowing someone to rest in peace.
All in all Drake did a wonderful job, the song is beautiful, era appropriate and doesn’t sound like its trying too hard. Sometimes people’s obsessions become artists outlets for God. LOVE YOU AALIYAH!
I like it….
I love the instrumental beats, along with the smooth melody and Aaliya’s voice. But on the other hand, I feel that Drake could’ve took the rapping part to a more mellow or sexy way which might’ve made it special to listen to. Aaliya’s vocal and music combined was sensual and unique. Giving my oppinon, she was a great artist. He could’ve did his part better than that. Maybe Drake needs to study harder on Aaliya’s style and music, it would be more easy for him to fall into place when adding her to his tracks.
Love it!
Why you gonna diss chris brown on a aaliyah record though? Aaliyah was so cool, and down to earth, she wasn’t about that bs,and drake is bringing his bs on a aaliyah record is disrespecting her. Why is drake the executive producer of her new album,it should be timbo and missy,or even r.kelly,it should people that actually knew her/worked with her,not dudes that had aaliyah as their imaginary girlfriend when they was teens.
PREACH! AMEN.
These stupid rappers jack up an otherwise beautiful song with their ghetto, profanity laced lyrics. Just like Ludacris messed up John Legend’s song from Think Like a Man. wish these artist would offer a non rapper interrupted jacked up part of the song version so fans can choose.
As an Aaliyah fan I was so excited to hear that I would get to hear new music from her. I could not help smiling and feeling at peace as I heard her voice dance around the track. It was the Aaliyah vocals that had me from the begining. I wish Drake all the best and makingthe rumored Alliyah album because its something I have truly been missing. I know there are those that listened to the track simply to have something to say about Drake. More than likely they are not fans of Drake nor his obession with Aaliyah. Drake has grown to become one of my favoites and Aaliyah will forever be one of my favs so the 2 of them on a track has made this a good morning. Oh and some folks are saying that Missy and Timbaland need to be apart of the record. I disagree. It has been 10 years and I am sure Missy and Tim have tracks and if they are not going to do anything with them then let someone else so it. Aaliyah’s art needs to be heard. GREAT JOB AALIYAH (RIP) & DRAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
This track is actually hot! However Im sick and tired of the young money camp using icons and there styles to profit off! It shows there is no creativity in there camp!!!
He’s a frad I tell u
just as Rose explained I’m impressed that a mom can get paid $6998 in one month on the internet. have you read this site (Click on menu Home more information) http://goo.gl/eY722
Dear Drake, have a seat. It’s so apparent that Drake is obssessed with Aaliyah.
Drake’s rap is ruining the song. It’s good to hear Aaliyah’s voice again in a new song.
its already stuck in my head , I LOVE IT ! Drake has did something many people have attempted but to do it with an UNFORGETTABLE artist is what they fail at. I cant wait to hear more ! I have to download this to the Ipod ASAP !
You Guys’ Comments are JOKES FUNNY!! Its an erie track listening to Aaliyah. I think he could have got away with a track with someone like Goapele, her voice is smooth.
But hey EVERYONE has a dream.. Drake got his, dead or alive. Peace
And Aaliyah’s isn’t smooth? Aaliyah’s voice is the queen of smooth.
What Next? Missy feat. Michael Jackson? Christina Aguilera feat. Etta James. Monica feat Whitney houston?
lmfaoooooooooooooooooooooo
I really, really don’t care for this track. Something about the mixing and mastering isn’t right. I guess because her vocals are old, probably from the 90s and his is from right now, it doesn’t blend right; sounds like two different songs blended together to me. Of course, Aaliyah’s smooth, soft, light vocals sound beautiful and the reverb is nice, but this song is too repetitive and Drake never knew her! I just hate when someone has been deceased for a while and a new album of theirs comes out… like, it’s a bit creepy and can be sad because you’re like, if only he/she was alive to perform this or enjoy it with the fans. Drake is an odd guy. He’s too sensitive and head over heels for women. It’s more pathetic then anything.
I respect Drakes adoration for one of my music idols and his attempts to put out current
Music for the masses to hear. It’s really sweet to hear Aaliyah’s voice again. The song is not bad
But he manages to make her sound one dimensional like some of the current radio artists’ sound.
The flavor, simplicity and complexity of her musc and it’s production is somehow lost. I listened
To the song with him on it and without him on it and well the song for me came up short.
It reminds me of what was wrong with Mariah Carey’s new song with Rick Ross. I see why
Timbaland and Missy struck the correct cords with Miss.Aaliyah. Good luck Drake.
I wish Drake would stay in his lane. I find this slightly disrespectful.. I agree with Timbland if you gonna do Aalyiah you need timbland and missy… This kids obsession us kinda weird..
I didn’t listen to the song yet. But I really wish Drake would have several seats. I’m sure he didn’t even know her so why does he even have any sort of legal rights to do anything with her unreleased records. Does Missy and Timberland have anything to do with this??
hese stupid rappers jack up an otherwise beautiful song with their ghetto, profanity laced lyrics. Just like Ludacris messed up John Legend’s song from Think Like a Man. wish these artist would offer a non rapper interrupted jacked up part of the song version so fans can choose.
Okay I think this needs to be said. Missy and Timberland don’t own the damn rights to Aaliyah and it shouldn’t be required for them to be on the song if some one wants to pay fucking tribute to her. I think Timberland is being a little ridiculous with that statement. Now if they want to be on the song, ask Drake, but don’t think he HAS to beg you to be on his song just because it was sampled after Aaliyah and y’all were cool with her.
Just because Drake loves Aaliyah doesn’t mean he needs to hook her whole damn squad up with a verse on his fucking song.
I understand why Timberland would want to be on the album because maybe he could help Drake understand Aaliyah on a different level and really make some hits, but I think he’s going about it the wrong way. There’s a difference between “Hey, I want to be on the song.” and “He shouldn’t make an Aaliyah album without us! He ain’t got what it takes!” Because when it comes to a tribute album, there is no right or wrong way. It’s you’re personal dedication to the life and work of that person.
It makes Timberland sound as though he is desperate as fuck for some work.
OMG!! You summmed it up perfectly!! Thankyou!! I just do not understand the logic that timberland has to be the one to do Aaliyah’s album? It just sounds silly and stupid. No drake did not KNOW her… so what?? Its really not that serious…he can always study her style…the whole point of posthumous music is that you are essentially filling in the blanks. Nothing is perfect because that person is no longer alive to give 100% approval!! RIP Aaliyah, love you!!
The label must be pressed for cash. Because, this is terrible.
PREACH!!!
I think they (Drake, Missy, Timbaland, Haughton Family) should just let her rest in peace.. Her voice is ok, but I’ve never seen what the hype over Aaliyah was other than her looks
Drake is TACKY as shit to use Aaliyah’s vocals for this dumb ass verse. Who dishonors someones memory by using beautiful vocals to try to diss an artist. Grown up already. This yellow n*gg@ is a clown…smh
WOW LIKE WOW.. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HEAR HER VOICE ON SOMETHING NEW AGAIN, SHIT IM STILL WATING ON MY “AALIYAH MOVIE” @BET PROMISE US. I AM A TRUE AALIYAH FAN OF THE WEST COAST. IVE SEEN HER IN WHEN SHE CAME OUT WITH “TRY AGAIN” WHCIH I STILL LOVE:) IVE SEEN MANY OF THIS R&B FEMALES COME THRU MY RADIO AND NONE OF THEM CAN MATCH COMPARE OR EVEN STYLE THERE SELF’S TO A ICON WOMAN LIEK “AALIYAH”. This song has been on serious repeat. I love how its simple & smooth…and then here comes Drake messing up the song smmfh.
I love the song but i like it better without Drake. I heard the solo version without him. Also, Drake’s verse sounds like he’s taking shots at Chris Brown…Umm, WTH?? If that’s how he’s trying to be Aaliyah back by adding a diss verse, then this song should not be release as a single with him on it. I don’t Aaliyah would appreciate that if she was alive.
***Correction: trying to bring Aaliyah back***
I actually like this song, very clean and different
i fucks with this…
I need a new Missy Album in my life!!!!! Where is she????????
This song is very boring. wasn’t moving at all.
sounded like a drake beat which was extremely repetitive and the execution was poor. i personally think that those of you who liked the track only liked it because of drake.
Aaliyah wouldn’t sing on a track like this. she always made music that made you move whether fast or slow.
the beat was very basic and lacked creativity.
Many younger women are looking to date older guys, mainly because older guys are relatively more successful in career and understand better how to treat their women. Many couples of them work out fine and get along splendidly.. .-—-.KissWealthy,c o M..—–.is a focused community for older successful men dating younger sexy women. I like the song only because Aaliyah is on it. My issue is that the beat is wack and doesn’t seem to fit her singing style. I want to hear the original music behind her voice. As fas as Timbaland is concerned he need to shut up and sit down! His music hasn’t been poppin since Liyah died. His beats suck! Missy is still somewhat on point though. Besides on Aaliyah’s last album they only did 3 or 4 songs, Tim only featured her on a lame song because she died and Missy forgot her altogether on her So Addictive album. What gives them claim to her music? Friendship? Or is the fact that produced the majority of one of her three albums. If that’s the fact then R. Kelly holds claim to her too! Drake is doing no more than what they did for Biggie on his collabs album. Tim needs to grow up and either get back to making good beats or sit down.
Nope. I LOVE Aaliyah. This doesn’t do any justice to her legacy.
I love the song, but I must admit…this is a bit creepy…

I love Aaliyah but it would have been best if he left this alone.
