She was under the impression that she was going to be the only woman on the new judge panel but with reports of Nicki close to signing a deal – that may be up in the air… Not sure about Nicki as a judge myself, it just doesn’t fit..

These negative comments about Mariah are irrelevant. Mariah is Mariah and Nicki is Nicki. On 2 different levels. A legend and a beginner. A vocalist and a marketing ploy. Idol is supposed to be about true vocal ability. Nicki may be in the business, but not a true vocalist. Mariah is and will give the best advice for it.
Not a really big Mariah fan but one CANNOT compare Mariah Carey & Nicki Minaj. Mariah is 20 years deep and quite successful. She really has no reason to be jealous of Nicki Minaj. Conversely, she signed on to American Idol seemingly with no stipulations. If they pick another judge she may not like, she has to deal with it.

Now these competiton shows are ridiculous really, they focus on star power and judges more than the actual talent of the young kids. Very few of them have long lasting careers and some dont even have hits. They ones who can really sing dont blow up anymore because of the current state of garbage of the music industry (that Nicki Minaj also represents well). People cant even sing well and have decent performances these days. All you need is a generic radio friendly electro/dance or indie song. She is now officially overexposed to me. I hope this rumor about her being chosen for AI as a judge is just that, a rumor. There is no way I think it will work and no way I want her in AI as a judge next to Mariah. A judge for such a show should be in the business long like 10 or more years to be qualified enough. I feel the same about Lovato. These cupcakes been in the business for about five years! There are many qualified veterans decades in the biz out there, been in the business too dang long and probably just \_ \_ \_ while these two aforementioned twits gon be sitting in the wrong seats judging talent. Unbelievable!!! Get Nicki as a sidekick/comic for Ryan, nothing more!

Nicki is a perfect fit, Idol knows what they are doing…trying to bring in the ratings and definitely trying to compete with Simon’s X-Factor. Idol’s ratings haven’t been as good as they have been the past couple of years so at this point it’s a no brainer.
No Nicki is not a good fit. She is not qualified to judge. I mean she is out there still being judged for her “brand” of talent. Her fame and popularity does not say she is fit for this. American Idol is a popularity show, which is why any musical integrity is sometimes second to a person’s fame. In general, their audience doesn’t seem to care one way or another.
Nikki doesn’t have any real talent. How are you going to be in the game for less than a couple of years, then be qualified to give advise to up and coming artists. For real? So many better qualified people…Michael Bivins, Quincey Jones, Mary J. Blige, Kenny Lattimore, Chante Moore, Anita Baker, Baby Face, anyone from NKOTB…and these are just to name a few. She hasn’t been there long enough, she only had 2 commercial albums and no real history of success other than a gimmick.

I do not know why she is acting as if she’s in a better situation than Nicki Minaj. Mariah’s accolades are incredible but her current status has declined rapidly. If I am not mistaken, she paid Nicki Minaj great money to jump on “Up Out My Face,” in hopes of saving that single. It had those damn MK-ULTRA butterflies all over the damn place too. Nicki Minaj has been a saving grace to a lot of the fading stars i.e. Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Eminem, Ludacris etc. Nicki has no problem jumping on their shit and outshining them.
