ALBUM PREVIEW: BRANDY’S “TWO ELEVEN”

October 10th, 2012

It’s been four years since Brandy released her fifth studio album, Human, but she’s back with the highly anticipated release of her sixth full length LP, Two Eleven, two very significant dates in the songbird’s life: her birthday, and the day that one of her idols and mentor, Whitney Houston passed.

Two Eleven, slated for release October 16th, contains productions from a host of new collaborators for Brandy, including hitmaker Sean Garrett and Bangladesh, as well as The Bizness, Rico Love and Jim Jonsin, just to name a few. Follow the link below and get a taste of what to expect of the new album.

This album seriously sounds incredible. Reminds me of an old school R&B record from the 90′s, while still incorporating relevant productions. Brandy’s voice sounds stellar.

I heard the “old school R&B”, but not the “relevant productions” that you mentioned. There’s no need to hype Brandy up, because her gift is apparent. I just wonder if she’s low on oil like the five foolish virgins. I realize that we can only sample the short tracklistings, but I didn’t hear any hits…just quality recordings from a legend… It’s like Michael Jordan hitting a couple of back-to-back three pointers. We know he can still play, but he’s no longer “Air-Jordan”.

I wasn’t sure I would like the album because I wasn’t a fan of the first single. I listened to the preview and was pleasantly surprised. I’m happy for Brandy. It’s a really solid album.

I think Brandy has a lot of strong joints on this album. It might not be crossover material but a good contemporary R&B album. I’ll be buying it.

I see Brandy doing the Michael Jackson/Baphomet pose on this album cover. I don’t know how sorrowful Brandy could be about Whitney Houston passing, seeing as Ray-J was the one chosen to execute the sacrifice.

I am so excited for Brandy. She is coming back hard and with quality stuff. I just hope people go out and buy the album and support her because she has had slumps in her life like all of us and is showing that she is not quitting. October 16th!!!

Great follow up album to “Human”. Vocally she’s grown since just 4 years ago and that’s amazing to me. Artist who can still evolve in talent after being on top is just awesome. The production is very Contemporary R&B but that’s just fine with me because Brandy is giving us so much ear candy with those vocals. Will be buying this record.

okay brandy…what you’ve done is siked all of us…put it down is the only upbeat fun song on the album…everything is, even though they are good songs, is mellow slow thinking music…i give it gold but nothing more…if you get another shot at this you need to understand whats going on right now in music and not 1995…its a recession and people want to forget about the sad things going on and try to have some fun!

are you deaf? let me go is more upbeat than put it down

but most of the album is mid tempos

Actually, we’re not in recession anymore no 1) and number 2) history shows that music is emotionally representative of the populace. That being said, it would be more appropriate for artist to release mellower and more introspective music.

Can’t wait to get this album! It’s been a long time coming BUT Bandy has done it with this one! I just hope her visuals are able to come across well also because I wasn’t really feeling the Put It Down video. She seems a little timid and the chemistry between her and Brezzy was a little off.

I love that Brandy has stayed true to R&B and did not just put out a whole bunch of dance tracks or songs with Lil Wayne rappin a verse like everyone else does. It might not be crossover but it very mature contemporary R&B. Along the lines of Frank Ocean. People kill me with the idea that an artist should completly change their style to be sucessful. She is still Brandy same chick with the braids. But now she is Brandy 2.0 so her basic style hasn’t changed and true fans would not have wanted it to. And She does have some bangers on there “Let me go” and “what you need” are definitely hits. I love this album and I will be purchasing it.

in my opinion sometimes i think when she took time to sit back and reflect on her pass mistakes in making “the human album” of course she made her mind up to not make those mistakes again on this “two eleven album” and besides you can tell she changed her camp and honestly sometimes that just helps you to have a fresh start for greatness so kudos! to you brandy for not giving up and showing your fans that god is able to anything but fail and this amazeing album definitely proves it i love you and my loyal support unto you as a beautiful artist still stands forever peace and blessings now just enjoy the journey you did it!..
