Remember Blu Cantrell? She is best known for her 2001 hit song “Hit Em Up Style” and she also dated rapper turned entrepreneur Jay-Z for a brief time before he got with Beyonce. Well she is back with new a new song, “S.O.S” and according to her twitter page, she plans on releasing a new album sometime in 2013.
Grown folks need to make grown folks music… This is a bunch of recycled garbage. And she’s old enough and been in the game long enough to know better. I guess when you sleep your way to a record deal,you really don’t know what real and what’s not… Blu,give it up!

I’m sure she has had more boyfriends since Jay-Z. In my opinion she maybe using that history for publicity but if she were confronted about it she could always say the song is about someone else. I did not like the song. It sounds unfinished and she could have came harder as a first buzz single.

I loved Blu back with “Hit ‘em Up Style” and “Breathe” but this is absolute hogwash! It’s such a shame that Jay-Z dumped her and only focused on Bey’s career. She could have been much bigger by now!

Blu Cantrell has a beautiful and strong voice. I have always hoped that she got the right producers and writers because her voice is amazing. The song is alright but with her range I wish she had a song that showcased her versatility.
