Check out another new episode of ‘Philly Painting’, which chronicles a massive neighborhood beautification project in North Philadelphia. Famed ‘Favela Painting’ artists Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn (known as Haas & Hahn) have teamed up with some Philly residents to bring life back to the streets of Germantown and Lehigh Avenues.
In the latest episode, we get to know “The Father of Modern Graffiti” — Darryl “Cornbread” McCray. Cornbread starting tagging back in 1967 around the same area where the Philly Painting mural project is. Check out this full circle moment shot by Jon Kaufman, Chris White and Seven Arne Halsema.

PA Bred you’d be amazed at how many Philly stories are out there that are unknown, especially Hip Hop related somebody need to get on documenting it all. And who knows maybe this is a start:)

Im from philly this is good for us native Lawd knows the hoolums turnd the city upside down…it needs a change…I wanna move back but its alot that need to change within the city…Mainly starting with the citizens.!
