Meet Michael Kiwanuka. This U.K. folk singer-songwriter is very popular internationally but has yet to make a big splash in the United States. Citing Bill Withers, Otis Redding, Richie Havens and more as influences, you can definitely feel the old school folk sound in his music. He released his debut album, Home Again, earlier this year and below you can find the music video for the song “I’m Getting Ready”.
Word is he is gearing for an official U.S. introduction sometime in 2013 and will be going on tour in March of 2013 with the Alabama Shakes.
