It’s been rumored that songbird JoJo has been released from her deal. But she’s back to give you a brand new mixtape, Agápē, a follow-up to 2010′s mixtape, Can’t Take That Way From Me. She released two tracks, “We Get By,” and “Andre,” previous to the release, today, on JoJo’s 22nd birthday.

Tony, welcome to the new normal for this site. It is dead because they refused to turn it over to me or anybody else for that matter. Jojo’s mixtape has been out for days. If you came to this site to download Jojo’s mixtape you could’ve gone elsewhere a few days ago and got it. I don’t understand what has happened. At first we were told it was just temporary, then it was because of Hurricane Sandy, now this site is just going through changes. The reality is that people are too busy to post on here so they just let this site fall off.
A stream was released on Tuesday, the official download release is Today which is JoJo’s 22nd birthday. So if you downloaded it days ago, it wasn’t apart of the official release by JoJo.
That is besides the point. The mixtape was indeed out on other sites days before CL had it. Furthermore, it is not just this mixtape that they are late on. They have been late on very musical story for the past 6 months. Face, it the only reason to come here is to see IF they have posted anything new, not WHAT they have posted new.

But anyway-getting dropped from whatever label she is on would be the best thing for her. She needs a label that will market her correctly. cause this chick is just too talented!!!
I agree. That is good news for her if it is true. She has been publicly fighting with the label since 2007 to be released.
Soon after JoJo’s second album dropped, other musicians signed to Blackground began to find themselves in similar positions as the then 16-year old. Toni Braxton sued Blackground in 2007, later winning her suit to be released from her constrictive contract while Timbaland took Blackground to court in 2009 because they allegedly went on a, “McCarthy-esque search-and-destroy campaign, contacting various record labels and giving them a million reasons why they shouldn’t hire Timbaland to produce songs.”
Luckily, Timbaland was signed to Blackground as a performer, not as a producer, so while he couldn’t spit a single rhyme on anyone’s CD, he was free to produce music for others.
But unlike those two, as well as other label mates R.Kelly and Tank who had court issues with Blackground, JoJo has been unable to extricate herself from this crazy contract — so strange a deal, in fact, that you cant even buy her previously released albums anywhere online.

Heard all the songs on this mixtape and it’s rather boring and all over the place. JoJo has a nice singing voice and great vocal control, but hardly any power or uniqueness. CL should just shut down if they are only going to post once a day or every other day.
Why are you always negative on all of JoJo’s post?
I like her mixtape. Take the Canyon is a nice laid back song. I admire the honesty in her letter. She hasn’t let the industry taint her love for music. I for one dont want Concrete Loop to shut down. I appreciate that they still post and its the commentators that make the site. There are too many personalities on here that I would miss if they did.
One last thing, Thinking Out Loud is the best track on this mixtape. It was brilliantly written and feels so organic. Should be longer but maybe she is saving the rest for an actual album like Miguel did with Adorn.
This is bar far, Jojo’s best work. Love the album!

The mixtape is way better than a lot of albums out right now. The lyrics of Back to the beginning, André etc., the rhythms and her voice makes me wonder why is she not signed on any major label ? I guess she wouldn’t have the same artistic freedom of choice…Jojo is definitely underrated.
