Last night marked the announcement for Grammy nods for 2013′s 55th Annual Grammy Awards, which will take place next year, live, on February 10th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Leading the pack of nominees last night was Frank Ocean, with a whopping six nominations, including Album of the Year for his debut, Channel Orange, as well as the coveted Record of the Year for “Thinkin’ About You” and Best New Artist category.
Also at the top of the chain was Kanye West and Jay-Z with six nominations, and it seems as though Miguel garnered much acclaim with his hit, “Adorn,” and his sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream, earning a very respectable five nominations.
The Recording Academy also recognized Chris Brown, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Estelle, Melanie Fiona, Tamia, SWV, Trey Songz and many more.

Seen the nomination list and I’m confused. I believe Rihanna deserved Record Of The Year because “We Found Love” was undeniably the best POP single of the year. Beyonce was obviously snubbed because despite ’4′ lack of sales it was her best album to date. Miguel was also snubbed. Adorn is a much better song than “Thinkin Bouf You.” But I guess coming out as a gay grants you more privilege. Channel Orange wasn’t that great of an album nor was it groundbreaking. In terms of widespread appeal, Miguel was the best. Who’s ever on the voting board of the GRAMMYs need to take several seats in hell because this nomination list rots.
Lmfao at Rihanna barely getting any nods. That is what she gets for being untalented n whorish. Her music is terrible. Don’t be mad just because the Grammys has gotten stricter. They should. Music is in a sad state.

@ truthfully speaking,,, good over Rih fool , she has presence , she has style and too many she’s beautiful and extremely talented . Most ppl like Rihanna young spirit,,, not for those things only , she’s not fake , and she seems in control of her game .And Chris Brown is not the number 1 choice for her to many , but she’s taking a chance to forgave and gave him a chance .

Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin’ About You” sounds horrible to me. I guess, i’m the only one who doesn’t feel it. With all of these nominations, music truly is watered down. I mean, you might as well give Justin Bieber a nomination. SMH!
Frank Ocean is a gay joke . And to me his ppl,, is basically using the gay Hollywood powers and the music industry gay powers , to build up his music . He sounds like trash , and has no style or personality .
Since when did the Grammy’s have to do with sales?
In a sense the Grammy nominations correlate with sales because the vast majority of the nominated artists are popular. Question being are they popular because of their music, or because of the marketing machine?
Mr Ocean has delivered a nice album and “Thinking About You” is OK, but as for Grammy worthy, I’d have expected “Super Rich Kids” or “Bad Religion” if any.
I’ve yet to hear Miguel’s music so hopefully the Grammy’s aren’t in fact about sales.
