Chrisette Michele recently released a mixtape entitled Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation, but is already gearing up to release her fourth studio album, entitled Better. Check out the title track from the album, “Better,” which will release at the top of 2013.

I’m confused… Isn’t she signed to a major record label? Why is she releasing a MIXTAPE? I thought only indy artists did that. Help me out here gang… GENUINE QUESTION HERE not trying to be flippant.
Why not? In the interim between albums and even while recording for the new album there are many songs that aren’t included on a label release, so instead of those songs never seeing the light of day why not satiate the fans appetite by releasing them. She released a mixtape before her Let Freedom Reign album entitled Love Thy Brother which was pretty good.

I hope she’s getting back to the Epiphany Chrisette because her last album was garbage. Maybe that was a bit harsh. I’ll just say disappointing.
Epiphany was just OK. Too many breakup songs. I like her other two albums a lot better. Haven’t listened to the whole mixtape yet.
