Jay-Z and Beyonce look up at the video screen during the 2013 NBA All-Star game at the Toyota Center on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Houston, Texas. The duo has had a busy 2013 with the Presidential Inauguration, SuperBowl 47, The 55th Annual Grammy Awards and it’s only February. Not to mention, Beyonce’s documentary aired on HBO with mostly positive reviews. Must be nice!!

  1. “Mostly Positive Reviews?” I read the New York Times review and they are clearly not on Beyonce’s pay roll. That “Documentary” was just a long publicity stunt. And Oprah calling that “film” a “game changer was laughable. I found it an opaque film that comes off less as an autobiography than a song-and-dance defense brief. Beyonce is again very good with informing the media and her fans how she lives but again that is all very calculated and false.

Lol. We get it, you don’t like Beyonce. I’ve seen you comment and reply to comments on every single Beyonce post just to be petty. You don’t like her? Move on. You sure spend a lot of time focusing on a woman you deem boring, robotic, and overrated. Yes the majority of reviews for this documentary were positive. Siting one source does not refute that. In fact, she did receive some less than positive reviews, which is natural, but the majority found it endearing. So how about you go focus on someone you DO like. Try that.

Bey is really something else , I thought she would have stop with all the control .
it seemed very fake , and staged . Beyonce act like they are part of the royal family and due to the royal family secrets and history heritage and security from other nation leaders assassins .She is so envious , of younger pop stars like Rihanna that she’ll try and compete in any which way she could .And that documentary was an insult to the intelligence of her friends, and fans . Bey ego is way too high . I feel sorry for her that she had to live with such a burden to seem perfect !! she wants to be relevant so badly the
She’s like over processed ,Bey ur loved by fans like me !!!

I am not a fan or a hater , but I feel she was basically trying to appear humble and down to earth . What she came across as fake and pretentious i was hoping she was going to bring her a game . Jayz seemed so fake , I could not stop laughing .

I haven’t watched the documentary yet but I did see Oprah’s Next Chapter. It was like an hour of Oprah praising Beyonce.

I’ve heard the documentary isn’t even as good as Oprah’s bigging it up to be.

Oh and does Beyonce’s face always have to be right up in her webcam? Almost every personal video of hers is of her face up in her camera with her eyes darting around the room for whatever reason.

I saw the documentary and the Oprah interview and I thought they were both raw and introspective, albeit nothing new coming from Beyonce, but it was real from my point of view. You can’t please everyone and in a world where controversy sells via reality tv, people would much rather watch ratchetness and drama than anything else. Let’s be real here, you and everybody you know would much rather watch someone who has a potty-mouth with a nasty temper and an ego to the nth degree get into fist-fights and bar brawls over nothing than here someone talk about their personal insecurities and issues while trying to keep positive, which I’m sure all of us grapple with everyday (general statement……..take that how you want).

I am pretty sure that when you reach the level of success she has you will be having the same discussion. And this is coming from someone who likes what he likes.

    • If you thought that “documentary” was “real” you’ve not been exposed too much to the Publicity Machine that is Hollywood. That Doc was as contrived as most of the things Beyonce produces.

    • I so agree. I didn’t see the interview with Oprah but I did watch her documentary, which I enjoyed. What’s sad to me is that she feels the need to explain herself to a bunch of people who want things to be wrong, period. Either you’re a Beyoncé fan or you’re not, if you’re not no matter how many documentaries she makes you will still find an excuse not to believe what she’s saying. I am a fan & I appreciate the little bit of personal information she gave us. I think she has survived so long & her marriage because they keep their business to themselves. They’re not broadcasting & acting a fool like people want them to, & that’s where the problem is.

    • Beyoncé’s aesthetic is perfection. She lives to be admired, and the supposed grittiness in Life Is But a Dream exists so that we admire her more. But don’t think for a second that it’s REAL. That is all I’m saying.

Wasn’t digging the Oprah interview but in the documentary, I could understand some parts. I am not the type of fan that has to know EVERYTHING about my fav singer/actor where it becomes “stalker-ish.” I do understand why celebs need their privacy at times and if it is not given all types of rumors are made and people do tend believe everything they read and hear.

Also, I am amazed how people on blogs & radio can say how a “celeb” is fake or a B and everything else but they do not personally know the person.

People are not fools and can see a game a mile away no one give into that fake ( stuff) beyonce is unhappy and her need for the spot light is proof of her insecurties , no one is perfect and at 30 years old and acts like a big 13yr old talking about perfection all the time . Also beyonce fans are so naive its sad .

Beyonce’s every move is well calculated. That “doc” was terrible. There was no objectivity just another example of image control. She knows she can’t convince the one’s that don’t like her, but she sure as hell knows that her “fans” will eat whatever slop she feeds them lick the plate and ask for more without question.
