In another exclusive clip just released by Harpo Studios, Beyonce candidly speaks with Oprah about her relationship with rapper turned mogul Jay-Z. Calling him her foundation, she expresses that they were friends first before they even went on a date.
BEYONCE I would not be the woman I am, if I did not go home to that man. And it just gives me such a foundation.
OPRAH: How has he helped you?
BEYONCE: On so many levels. We were friends first, for a year and half. Before we went on any date, on the phone for a year and a half. And that foundation is so important in a relationship. And just to have someone that you just like, is so important. And someone that is honest.

Bey: Beyonce Knowles is a woman…and when I say that, I honor all the strong women around me like my mother, you, Kelly, and Michelle…not that Michelle, Michelle Obama. I am humbled to learn from you, and you all continue to inspire me. So everyday, I am humbled, grateful and I am inspired to continue to work hard.

And there, are the Obamasbehind you…and youre here for them, and for America, really…What was the thought process? was that your ah-hah moment?
Beyonce: *smiles, stutters, tears up* It was the most important moment of my career…I’ve done so much, and Ive gone to so many places…but I was just so proud and hppay and humbled to be part of such an inspiring and humbling moment. It’s such a legacy to leave to my daughter.

I used to really get crazy behind Beyonce but I have since lost interest…. I’ve seen her twice in concert and she’s a great performer BUT I really hope with this new album she has a new look and creative concept. Everything about “4″ WAS stupid IMO ! I miss her albums with Substance… “Dangerously In Love” and “Sasha Fierce”. B’Day Was Good Too but lacked a concept. I’m praying she redeems herself with this forthcoming effort… And stop giving JayZ all the damn credit like he’s god or something. It is gross!
