Soul singer Bilal is back with his second single, “West Side Girl,” from his fourth studio album, A Surreal Love. The recording and conceptualizing was a slightly different process for Bilal this time around, noting that the project came together rather quickly.
It was just so easy that the music started to flow, before we knew it, it was like, ‘oh wow we got an album!’ Usually it takes me 2-3 years to make an album.
‘West Side Girl’ is a feel good, funky groove party jam created by me and my soul brothers, Shafiq Husayn and Stephen ‘Thundercat’ Bruner. [SOURCE]
A Surreal Love is slated to hit stores February 26th.

Love it! Going to see him live at the Highline Ballroom on Feb. 12th for my bday, can’t wait!
Love the song. He is underrated and makes beautiful music.
Someone is having a “PRINCE” moment. Fun song…
lol @ PRINCE moment..I dig Bilal but not sure I’m really feeling this particular song. The beat/groove of the song is nice. Might have to listen to it again a few times. He is a good artist though.
Love, love, lovessss me some Bilal. Thanks for not making me wait for 20 years for a new album. Bilal—-a REAL talent!
I absolutely LOVE Bilal! I’ve been following him since “First Born Second”. I finally had a chance to see him at Tempo here in Charlotte last year. Amazing artist! Check out http://www.liveitloveitdoit.com for features on more indie artist like Bilal!
