UK’s very own Emeli Sande has teamed up with fellow newcomer and Westcoast-native Kendrick Lamar for a remix track of Sande’s chart-climbing single, “Next to Me.” Lamar lends his gritty voice and rap lyrics to the piano and drum heavy track, giving the song just enough edge.
In related news, Emeli just won the ‘Best British Album’ & ‘Best British Female’ awards at the 2013 Brit Awards (check out the gallery link above). As for Kendrick, you can catch him on tour. His next stop will be Gainsville, FL on Tuesday, February 25th, followed by a two-night gig in New York City.
I love Kendrick Lamar, but I like this song better without him.
I was on the fence about this remix because I really like this song. Kendrick is one of my favorite rappers, but this sadly was a ‘miss’.
