CHRIS: "I was very young..."

In light of the media looking down on their reunion, singer Chris Brown still wants everyone to know how much the 2009 incident between himself and Rihanna has allowed him to mature and realize his mistake. While attending Elton John’s Oscar party over the weekend, the 23 year-old entertainer shared with UK’s Mirror that laying a hand on his 25-year old girlfriend is his deepest regret and that he has learned an important lesson:

ON LEARNING AND BEING FORGIVEN:
Sometimes you row, you fight, with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals. That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake. But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven… but, yes, I worked hard for it. I was very young and I took a lot of stuff, fame, for granted. I didn’t understand it. The support from those who do know me and the fans, who are incredible, got me through.”

ON THE JOKES AND COMMENTS MADE BY OTHERS:
“People attack me and criticise me, it happens all the time. But they don’t know me, and they don’t know us. It doesn’t bother me any more. Other people can judge us but they don’t know anything.”

Meanwhile, Rihanna recently affirmed this change in the new Chris and told Rolling Stone magazine that Brown is “not the monster everyone thinks. He’s a good person” who is “giving and loving, fun to be around” and “has a fantastic heart.”

If you missed it, NBC’s Law & Order: SVU will be airing a new episode, re-enacting the 2009 incident between Chris Brown and Rihanna [READ MORE].

  1. Chris will always be the abuser. His behavior since the beating has not show someone who understands his issues with anger and violence. I wish them luck but the inequity in terms of their fame and career will only break them up again. Neither of these two are mature enough to understand what makes up a healthy or strong relationship outside of lust and societies disapproval. Now that they can have the relationship they have been wanting in public…..the appeal of it will subside and quickly.

I’m sure you are perfect in your ways and have never even thought about committing such an act. I wonder if you’ve said the same thing about Charlie Sheen?!?!?!

    • I grew up in a home that had two married parents. My father never hit my mother and I have never hit any of the girls i`ve dated. To not put your hands on a female has nothing to do with perfection but rather the expectation should be that men know not to hit women. Chris Brown brutalized Rihanna. This has nothing to do with a simple `mistake`. This was a sick act by a sick person and the Charlie Sheen comment is null and void. Two sick people don`t cancel each other out. Wrong is wrong.

I feel that if a couple love each other . And they are honest and open
with no lies no games gratitude and respect , they can keep the love alive . Fake behavior and lies destroy relationships , also a lack of gratitude .

Crap, please disregard my earlier reply to you @WAKE UP. It was intended for Richard “Mr. Perfect” Overstreet up there. I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment. If CB was such an abuser, then I’m sure Karreuche Tran would have said something by now, especially given this little love triangle drama that he has put her and Rihanna in as of recent. I say as long as the love is still there and they continue to be honest, then I definitely don’t see a reason for anyone to pass judgement. Besides, people are hypocrites. They are so cool with Charlie Sheen (proving that this is a race issue) like he never did a bad thing in his life, yet are still dogging CB like this incident happened yesterday. It’s ridiculous, I refuse to pass judgement against someone who commited an grievous act in his TEENS.

This is great he owns up to his mistakes and the past. They that confess of their short coming should be forgiven. Now I hope that he will project a more positive image. He needs to let all the drama go in and around his life. Focus on becoming a better person and just create good music and dance. We all havr made some type of mistakes in our lifetimes. But we all move on and try to become a better person. Let these people live and enjoy their lives. Stop with the insults and the negativity.

  4. “But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven…” – That does not sounds like someone who is regretful. Not to mention he is CONSTANTLY getting caught out there for his lack of control. He is not a man – he is a spoiled, disrespectful, selfish brat and a somewhat talented con man. Anyone who supports this man is a fool.

    • Very well stated. If she forgives him then he did nothing wrong is how I read that comment. Chris has many people making excuses for him this is why he will do it again. Chris is not worthy of the public trust.

I wish she would tell her side of domestic violence bc I’m sure she beat him too! But they’ll keep that part under the carpet. Ain’t nobody believing that they both didn’t do it! Domestic violence ain’t right from either party! I’m sure she beat his ass too! Smh ppl are so judgmental but there is 2 sides to that story and Chris ain’t telling what she did to him!!!

Honestly, I used to think it was mainly him and that she didn’t do anything in the “altercation” but I now believe she may have done something to him as well. I, personally, would never get back with someone who beat me but if they both were to blame it would kind of make sense for them to try and get back together.

I don’t care what kind of person you are !!!! if you can confess your wrong , you deserve a second chance . Putting his pride aside is a good start . Chris Brown does not have a team of media backs , to coach him in the media eyes

It must be nice to have the time to analyze the relationship of two people one doesn’t know.

That is the problem with domestic violence, alot of victims go back too their abuser, and end of dead sometimes. My opinion is you can forgive, but never forget, and never go back period!

Beating someone is not a mistake. Hitting someone repeatedly is done on purpose, you are aware of what you’re doing; you know it’s wrong. Maybe he snapped, maybe he was in another zone; who knows. Whatever the case may be, he has been forgiven by HER, and she seems to be passed that. The media will attack you, especially if they get a reaction out of you. He always reacts, and he has to have tougher skin. I know everyone has their limits and can only take so much, but when you choose the life of fame, you choose everything that comes with it. Everything isn’t “caviar and champagne” There’s a lot of bullshit. He did it once, and he apologized. He has been humiliated, his reputation and career has been damaged, and I think he has paid enough for what he did. People will see him as a woman beater because the world and the media is unforgiving.

Honestly know one really knows what happened that night.. And I have had to restrain a woman before during an argument.. can things spiral out of hand yea especially if you lack the maturity to handle that situation.. I’ve seen my brother hit his gf (at the time) because she slapped him in the mouth.. who knows how the fight went down..

    • We know Exactly what happened that night. It was ALL in the Police report and Chris Brown was Charged with Felony Assault. All the things you mentioned were excuses. Keep your hands to yourself.

listen im not taking any sides b/c like Jeep says, nobody really knows what happen that night. No matter what the police report said, anything can be written, doesnt always mean word is bond. But all I can say is, my family is from the islands, Rihanna is an island chick. In the islands, there is a TOTALLY different culture when it comes to relationships. We are very aggressive and physical people at times and I’m especially talking about the women. If we feel disrespected in anyway, we will get up in your face, antagonize, sometimes even weapons will get drawn. Not saying its good, but it is kind of unspoken understanding that some men & women in the islands fight, but give it some time and everything is peachy again. We don’t take it so serious as Americans would. Once again, not saying that it should be tolerated, acceptable or justifiable but I’m sure Rihanna was used to seeing that around her growing up and its usually the norm in the islands. Different culture, different thought process. Can’t really be mad.

WHO CAAAREESSS!! ppl act like they know these ppl and the relationship they have. If they like it, I love it. Leave them alone and let them live. Ya’ll dont know anything until u walk days in their shoes and even still, strong feelings and love just dont die like that over one mistake. ppl do shit all the time that they regret. sometimes its small, sometimes its horrible as hell. but all that really matters is you grow, you learn, you apply, you do better and MOVE ON! Leave them alone and let them live. It’s THEIR lives and they seem just fine living it how they want, b/c why?? it makes them HAPPY, and at the end of the day thats all anybody wants…is to JUST BE HAPPY!. And if it’s a mistake..well….Its THEIR mistake to make! geesh! ppl and all their damn opinions, smh. just let it be! tired of hearing about this shit already. obviously they dont give 2 fucks about what he nay sayers gotta say smh. young, rich and fly…hey! what can they say? lol #rantover

@pehegaltour , Stop !!!! Caribbean island women are not into fighting
and acting like aggressive females . We are laid back , family oriented and Committed to any relationship we have , Rihanna was willing to forgive Chris Brown and that’s between both of them . But I’m sure she saw examples of loyalty in friendship and love . Your family females might have that ghetto fighting aggressive nonsense . But don’t try and include the rest of the Caribbean females , I grew up in the Caribbean !!! And never saw that ! and saw that kind of behavior in Caribbean people .

This topic will be never ending b/c what must be acknowledged is that domestic abuse is a very serious thing. The unfortunate truth is that statistically victims of abuse almost always return to their abusers and this is what Rihanna is doing. Chris Brown is not regretful, his comments speak volumes on his dont give a shit attitude. The reality is these two are gonna continue into this unhealthy cycle until someone says no more for good! They have the right to make their own choices even if there the wrong ones. Rihi will just have to take again…and again…and again…..
