A couple weeks ago we told you that rapper Lil Mama landed the acting gig as Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in the upcoming VH1 biopic about singing group TLC. Now there are confirmations that actress-singer Keke Palmer has been picked to play singer-choreographer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas in the made for TV flick.
According to a press release that came out on Sunday, February 17th the rising star is ecstatic about the role.
I would sing No Scrubs over and over again to the point my parents would have to tell me to stop, but I never did, I had my little hairbrush as my mic and nobody could tell me I wasn’t the fourth member of TLC. I am a true fan. I love these ladies and I always want to be proud of my work in any role that I do.
The film is slated to start filming in Atlanta next month. Now all they need is their TBoz and they will be good to go. Wonder who they will pick?
Keke Palmer is FRESH and talented. I’m happy to see her get more roles. She was excellent in Abducted: The Carlina White Story. Keke will make this role memorable as well. My only thing is Chilli was the LEAST talented member of TLC. I hope Keke has enough material to work with.
Yea I said the same thing. Unless they explore Chilli’s relationship with Dallas Austin and Usher, and explore her reconnecting with her father, there really isn’t going to be much KeKe has to work with in developing Chilli’s story

TBoz and Lisa Was Amazing… Chilli was just a pretty face lol. Sorry. But its true. I mean To this day I wish Lisa was still here and able to do the damn thing!
first let me say having this movie Made for Tv is a SLAP IN THE FACE! after all TLC accomplished and doors they opened for female groups this movie should be going to THEATERS NATIONWIDE, PERIOD! ok with that being said………it’s gonna be HARD to pick T-Boz because she is truly ONE OF A KIND in my book. really the only person that comes to mind is KERI HILSON if she can do it.
What about Keshia Cole:) She can play T Boz……I really like Keshia Cole…

Look, I loved TLC too, but there is no way in hell anyone would finance a theatrical release of a TLC biopic, because it would be akin to setting fire to your cash. Even I wouldn’t pay $10 to see it. Keke is perfect as Chili. Lil Mama as Left Eye?…….I dunno. She should wait for the Lil Bow Wow biopic.
I loved TLC too, they were some of the first artist I listened to as a child, but agreed TLC doesn’t have that massive enough appeal for a theatrical film release.

Sounds like a cool TV movie, but TBoz wasn’t the most talented. She has one of the most awful voices of all time. She sings like an old lady who smoked too many cigarettes… actually she sounds a lot like Marge from the Simpsons. It was just the meaningful lyrics, style, and beats of TLC’s music that made them big, not their “talent”.
Tionne and Chilli will never be able to move on and do individual work ….if TLC is continuously brought up….just let it go…..do another biopic on Left-Eye but let the group thang go……closure is best……….I wish the best for Tionne and I am sure she can succeed as a solo artist away from the TLC nostalgia

well I can see Keke as Chili cuz there aint nothing else to it but to dance pretty girly. I grew up thinking that t-boz is just short for tomboy cuz she sure does act like it so I’m hoping they can cast someone who can convince us that she is tomboy as well.

I think each of them together brought something special to that group that doesn’t work individually. They would have been perfect together for a sitcom. But Pebbles shot that down quick.. I wonder who they will get to play Pebbles, Omarosa??

Good look for KeKe but she should wait and play Brandy in a movie cause when I look at her she reminds do much if Brandy and the career she had in the 90′s. and I know Brabdy is one of her idols. But I know she’ll hit the role out of the park.
Good solid choice, she’s a great actress and a good vocalist.
