Singer Alicia Keys performed a medley of her songs during half time at the 2013 NBA All-Star game on Sunday (February 17) in Houston, Texas. The musician started off on the piano and then decided to get up to dance and sing… watch the video to see why it probably wasn’t a good idea.
Her and Ne-Yo had a rough night last night.
She should’ve just lip-synced .. and I swear that’s the first time I’ve seen her do choreographed moves. It was kind of weird.

Alicia’s time has come and gone. This CD I did not bother to collect. Nothing on it is new or anything you’ve not heard from her before. I was also turned off by her performance in front of the President. “Obama is on Fire”. Alicia needs to raise her child and take a break…the fatigue is showing.
I don’t see what the problem was. I’m not a huge fan but I thought it was Alicia…vocally that’s what she brings. The perf. was cute. Her on the keys was dope as usual.
Hate to say it, but Beyonce has raised the bar for what is considered an accepatble performance. Beyonce’s performing skills are extraodinarily unusual and difficult to match, let alone top. Back in the day, (pre-Beyonce) this type of performance would have been acceptable. Hell, it’s hard breathing, singing and dancing at the same time. Nowadays? That (good) excuse just won’t cut it. Whatevs. I thought her male dancers were very entertaining though.
On another note, am I the ony one who is sick of dance ensembles that contain either mostly darker skin MALE dancers/entertainers or mostly lighter skin FEMALE dancers/entertainers? I swear, I could write a book about the prejudices and colorism in the black community. -_-
Beyonce hasn’t raised any bar….the only thing these dumba@# chicks have done is magnified their flaws and the reasons why the public is tired and deserves better—good riddens! Many of these chicks shouldn’t have been put out to begin with— just pretenders—and a man’s version of what a female artist should be—hello!
the ending reminded me of star search. *shrug* she tried. personally, every female out right now is doing the same thing (and since you want to compare them all to beyonce) including beyonce. dancing and singing. neither of these women are making classic tunes that will stand the test of time.
I loved it! She gave her all! Her voice was not her best but she gave a great fun performance!

I loved the male dancers, I’m tired of seeing all female dancers shaking their azzes, I wish Beyonce would have brought out male dancers when she sang “Baby Boy” on her Superbowl half-time performance!!

Alicia was doing her thing, and reminded me of some mid 90s laid back shit. If this was a white girl dancing like this, while still being in tune y’all would praise her. But it seems like a black woman gotta be half naked bouncing her ass for it to be considered a good performance. And I Stan for Bey sometimes, bitch is fierce. But real recognizes real. Lets talk about Beyonce lookin dam near 50 in that platinum blonde wig, with wrinkle lines harder Ceelie.

Her dancing and performance were fine! Her vocal performance was subpar, though. Unacceptable for a professional. Also, the mix was poor.
