A piano less John Legend performed an a capella version of the national anthem at the 2013 NBA All-Star Game in Houston on Sunday, February 17. Very nice rendition, his voice sounded really good. Check it out!

i was iffy about john doing the anthem last night. BUT, he was really good!!!
This really was the only performance worth watching, A. Keys and Ne-Yo’s performances were forgettable (but hey, everybody has their off day). Knowing how his voice sounds I was iffy about this too, but he did a really good job.
I’m assuming you all are deaf. I understand why Beyonce chose to sing over a pre-recorded track.
All I wanna know is when his new album is going to drop. He did the anthem proud. That is an extremely difficult song to master.
