WHO SANG IT BETTER: WISH VS. NETTA BRIELLE??

February 23rd, 2013

Late last week, new Atlantic signee Netta Brielle released her official first single, “More To A Kiss,” but it came to a shock for some, seeing as though not long ago, we posted the same song from songbird Wish from her latest mixtape release, Me Against Her.

The BridgeTown-produced, Donny Roc and Wish-penned cut has an amazing ’90′s feel that will definitely thump this spring/summer season, which makes it a great way to introduce Netta to new fans.

Their teams collaborated to make this happen – and we’re not here to stir up controversy. But it wouldn’t be right if CL didn’t ask that age old question

It sounds like something beyonce turned down but wish’s version is better

Well that was a no brainer…Wish can’t sing while Netta Brielle can. It’s just that simple! ;-)

Never heard this song before listening…kinda liked it. Definitely preferred the Wish version (had never heard of either artist before listening). W’s voice had more of an authentic soulful “urban” feel than NB, who sounded more like she was trying to force that type of sound, in my opinion.

Wish had a bit more swagger on the track.

And I love the harmony on “God dammmmnnn….”

    I don’t know…she just finessed it more.

    But Netta is talented too.

First time doing a comparison poll (music) on CL. Listened to one right after the other, Wish first, then Netta. I voted Neither because they both did it extremely well and there was no appreciable difference in song styling. Great job to both ladies.

I think Netta Brielle sounds like Amerie for the most part. I like the song tho. Wish’s voice texture is much more rich so I think she sang it better hands down!

  10. I like the Wish’s version better. Their voices remind me of K. Michelle.

@focusonjesus, I agree with you that both their voices remind me of K. Michelle. Wish sang the song like she meant that thang, imo. Netta seems talented in her own right. But this song right here? Better suited to Wish.

I don’t think I’ve heard either of these ladies until now. Thanks CL.

I’ve been following both ladies’ careers for some time now…both are fairly popular in their own areas. I heard Wish’s version a while back. It’s cool. I just recently heard Netta Brielle’s version. MUCH SWEETER. Her voice is raspy and pretty at the same time. Wish is just singing very loud. I’ve heard other songs of hers where she sounds much more connected to the music. Both are talented. Hope to hear more from both of these ladies.

Man, Wish sung this way better. She has range, Netta doesn’t. Netta’s sounded dry and boring. Wish is just loud? What does loud, or whispering have anything to do with how strong a voice is. Wish sounds amazing, the other girl wasn’t horrible. But it wasn’t better than Wish.
