Oprah Winfrey’s Network is pumping out new shows left and right and “Raising Whitley” is the next in line at the rising network. The “docu-series” follows veteran actress-comedian Kym Whitley and her quest to raise her adopted son Joshua.

When Kym signed up to mentor a troubled young girl, she never imagined she’d get a call from the hospital saying, “Your baby is ready.” After learning that her mentee exited the maternity ward leaving only Kym’s contact information, Kym experienced a cataclysmic moment. He’s very cute. He’s going to have to be careful with going around and smiling at young ladies in the future. little heartbreaker.
Why can’t they do reality shows based on people you care about or better yet who are RELEVANT. Oprah is not going to win with a show like this. I don’t even know who this woman is.

I like the adoption focus, but I think the purpose would be better served with a different type of program. JMO
nobody knew who the “reaL housewives” of atlanta were when they first came on the scene and yet it was a hit, mainly cause people get a kick out of seeing women tear each other down, I guess seeing a successful woman loving herself and having a community that supports her is too dull for our mentally ill society.
I just watched this trailer, all I can say is wow, I am so glad this baby has people who really love him in his life, Whitley seems very grounded with good parents who supported her and her dreams, sorry she lost her mom, but she gained a little sweet heart to focus on. Much success to her.
OMG! That trailer made me cry, I always have been a fan of Kym Whitley, she is crazy. What a touching story, I will be watching.
