Singer-actress Ashanti is all smiles during her interview at SiriusXM Studios on Tuesday (March 5) in New York City.
The 32 year-old is promoting her new gig with Lifetime’s hit show, Army Wives. She will be co-starring on the show playing LaTasha, a mother of 3 and wife of an Army soldier who is deployed in Afghanistan. You can catch a clip from the show on Lifetime’s official website.

But let me tell you this… If we were to add up all Ashanti fans across the United States that still would not make even 5 thousand in sales. As for this TV “movie” she is appearing in…. Lets check those nielsen ratings numbers on Monday. I bet you the Lifetime “movie” she is appearing on won’t even crack the top 20. But you keep hope Alive. Again…nobody is watching that “Movie” because Ashanti is in it.
What. Army Wive’s is a great show. Sit down and watch it one night you will get hooked, trust and believe. I like Ashanti, you don’t hear much about her in the tabloids accept her and Nelly breaking up, because she supposedly cheated ( key word supposedly) Good luck Ashanti, DO YOU!

I’m happy just reading your excitement about the show and Ashanti. She is a nice girl. I don’t dislike her. I just don’t see her being relevant or that talented. Ashanti has avoided the things that most people fall into so I can agree with you there. I guess it’s cool she is keeping it going. If I had to fault her it’s for wasting time with Nelly. Nelly annoys the hell out me. When that brother ran that credit card down that strippers you know what I was disgusted. I hate to see black people objectify other blacks in that way. And when Spelman kicked him off their campus I was happy to see women take a stand against Misogyny. I wish Ashanti well.
