Serena Williams took home her 6th Key Biscayne women’s title at the Sony Open over the weekend (March 30). The 31 year-old tennis titan came out victorious after she beat her 25 year-old Russian opponent, Maria Sharapova, scoring 4-6, 6-3 and 6-0 to seal her newest career win.
“I felt good today,” she told the crowd with the smile. “It’s so good to be No. 6 now — I mean, the six-time — oh, gosh. Thank you.”
Williams won her first title back in 2008 after her match against Steffi Graf. This makes Serena the oldest title holder in Sony Open history to ever do it. Check out some pics from her photoshoot on Miami Beach, where she poses with her lovely glass trophy.
